So Brown's gets a whole range of reviews from excellent to poor. A work group of ten of us got together there this evening for a meal just to relax and spend some time together after what has been a really tough few months. We work nearby and I vaguely recall patchy service in the past, but this evening's meal... More

We are a family with two boys. We went for lunch on 25 January. On arrival we were seated and enjoyed a nice lunch. BUT the service is very poor. waiter didn't clear the table after the main course.l for 30 min. We had to ask for glasses of water several times....maybe they ran out? Overall very off putting. And... More

Food was good value for money, the visit was ruined by poor service throughout the night. We literally had to tackle someone to get a drink let alone the bill. After ten minutes of waiting for someone to take our card we paid at the bar. We were then followed out of the restaurant by a waitress who was concerned... More

We were served by a very enthusiastic waitress who was very keen that we should have everything that we wanted. The mains were ok, the burgers were well received but he fish cakes a little soft and the tarragon was the dominant flavour and definitely needed chips to accompany them. However, the pudding of salted caramel profiteroles were to die... More

Brown's has a good "Brasserie" character, and we have visited for lunch as a family three times over the last 18 months or so. It has usually been an enjoyable experience, with a warm and courteous, if slightly formal welcome leading to a good and satisfying meal at a reasonable price for the area. The menu, while relatively limited, is... More

I love the setting of this place. Food is good and it's handy as it is so close to Angel station. This has been a fave of mine if treating ourselves to a nice lunch somewhere a little nicer than nearby chain pubs.

We've been coming here for a few years and it's generally a smart bar with a good menu. The food is reasonable, but perhaps more space could be given over to people who aren't having food.

After reading the comments made by Holly regarding her visit with her boyfriend, I felt I had to comment, firstly where on earth does colour come into the equation!! My two friends and I visit Browns on a regular basis and have never had any cause to complain, the staff have always been friendly and not once has there ever... More

After a walk around Angel, my partner and I chose to dine in Browns as it looked the least like a chain restaurant, and given the exterior, it looked like we'd get looked after! I was wrong! I should have taken the hint once we had walked in; no one there to greet us and it took a good few... More
