Just OK for a quite night

The server said it was a quite Friday night, well it was quite but I have to say the service was not great - quite slow really. From ordering it was near 20 minutes before our drinks were finally served. The food was grand as we say, the service of the food was poor - server's shouting at a... read more

I dined here for Sunday lunch with two friends. Having ordered the roast dinner, it arrived missing half of the things that were listed as included on the menu. I had to ask for these, which were then brought out on an additional side plate. Everything was very much a warm up and not particularly fresh. Between us, we ordered... More

Dreadful place. Tables full of glasses and dirty. Manager and waiting staff huddled round till talking. Had to clear one and ask for cloth. Food awful; hard bread, 4 chips for £4 and 2 small slices of sausage roll for £8. Waited ages to be served as there was only 1 person on bar in this busy Islington location. Left... More

Arrived at around quarter past 9 to be told by the chap behind the bar that he's not making any more cocktails. When asked why, he advised that he

Met up with a group of friends for brunch. Drinks took an age to be served throughout the meal - we had to keep reminding our waitress. Some of the coffees had to be sent back as they were lukewarm. Some of the toast was burnt and one meal didn't arrive with the others. Generally very poor service - lovely... More

Booked the Mothers Day offer but wish I hadn't bothered. The food was surprisingly poor. I'm pretty sure that much of the food was frozen and reheated to order. The main was so dire I sent it back and didn't bother to order a different dish as I could see from others the quality was not going to get any... More

I booked a table for dinner at Browns for a special occasion on Saturday 14th March 2015. The experience was so poor that I feel compelled to take the time to write a review. When we arrived we were seated at our table with only the food menu, my mother tried to get the attention of the waiter as we... More

Had a very disappointing experience. My meal was all different temperatures, but mainly cold. I had trouble getting the attention of staff and twice had to stand up and walk over to the waiter to get attention. My complaint to the manager was not taken very seriously and I wasn't offered any reduction from my bill. I am unlikely to... More

Chosen for its location as were off to see The Railway Children at the Kings Cross Station Theatre - just a 20 minute walk on a sunny day - so ideal. Although arriving early we were made very welcome at a table near the bar where we enjoyed a bottle of wine. Our pre-booked table was in a bay window... More

This a a great place to take a date or your parents - probably not at the same time. Food is good but you're really paying for the more refined atmosphere. Location right on the green is excellent.
