Buzzy with good food

My fist visit, booked at short notice but had good table for four at a busy time (8pm). Service was fine, food presented and cooked well from a varied menu. Three meat dishes, and one Cod nicely complemented by a reasonably priced (for London!) Sicilian Pinot recommended by the maitre d'. A little... read more

Following a warm and courteous welcome we were swiftly seated whereupon the drinks waiter appeared and offered us a variety of beverages. The wine and scillian beer were excellent. The food swiftly served was 5 star. Excellent chicken and cod dishes. The desserts of rum baba should have been called scrum baba. Could not have been better. Great value all... More

We've been to Al Duca before so pretty much knew what to expect - We arrived about 8.15pm on a Friday evening (having booked online) and were shown to a table promptly. It was, and remained pretty much full throughout our meal, but wasn't horribly noisy. All aspects of the meal - food options, ordering, service and waiter attention- were... More

We have been before but this time our friends from Italy invited us to Al Duca specifically to try their tagliatelle with truffles. We are lucky that this year's truffle season is slightly longer than normal. This dish is so simple with a beautiful taste that can only be described as heavenly. The tagliatelle was perfectly al dente (our friends... More

Small quite restaurant, good food and service was ok. The ladies serving were pleasant, however owner was not as professional as I would expect. For example was just rushing to take order rather than explain a bot about the menu. The food was good and my steak superb, however no accomps with it which it really needed. The final price... This was my third visit here, and the service was attentive, the wine recommendation fine. So was some of the food, but my pasta was really chewy rather than al dente, and the sauce too rich for the dish. They also didn't respond very cleverly to my companion's wish for a slight variation on one dish. At these prices, and... More

I visited this restaurant for my wife's birthday and for me personally having ate in many good restaurants around the globe it was over priced and overrated food 👎🏼

My client arranged a lunch meeting here and i was not disappointed, the service was good, the food & wine on point and it felt relaxing and comfortable. We were the last to leave but not hurried along.

I was looking for the great Italian restaurant in the centre of London. I thought I would have to make do with a national chain restaurant. I found this little gem and read the reviews and the all five star. I went there on a Saturday evening and it was quite easy to book a table. The service was great... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident and were very happy for the discovery. We had delicious pasta with truffles (my all time favorite!) and had a good house wine, good service and at a reasonable price. Reservations are recommended. We had none but were fortunate to be able to be seated. There is indoor and al fresco dining. Very... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
