Great for morning coffee, with a locals accent

Just a local hang out. Great coffee but food selection is limited. Very friendly service and good for watching locals.

Whilst wondering around Old Crompton Street & Soho needed a coffee & sit down to rest aching legs. Had already booked to eat in Little Italy (restaurant next door) later in day so it made perfect sense to try Bar Italia. Have been to Italy several times & having a coffee here really felt authentic. Great strong tasting coffee &... More

Had coffee here yesterday and lunch a bit later in the day. I always come when I can when I am in London. The coffee is probably the best in London and, if you can get an outside table, it is one of the best places to while away some time and people-watch.

We popped in here to escape a slight shower, but so glad we did. It was delightful, the coffee was divine and refreshed our flagging spirits and the tiny chocolate-filled croissant was delicious. The waitresses are lovely, very helpful and the place is very central, being situated on Frith Street near Ronnie Scott's.

Had pizza and coffee here twice while staying in Soto. Delicious cappuccinos and a nice thin crust pizza that we shared. Our waitress was efficient and friendly. We enjoyed it and would recommend to others.

I have not been to the Bar Italia in many years, long before I emigrated from the UK. On a recent trip back I happened to be passing and decided to familiarise myself with this Soho institution again. The genuine Italian coffee was just as I had expected (this is the place for real coffee while you are in London)... More

Amazing little place to visit if you are ever in the Soho area. A real slice of Italy in Frith Street. I called in Friday evening and the atmosphere was brilliant. As for the coffee well... the best I have ever tasted and the tiramisu was heaven on a plate. As for the staff they were friendly, chatty and really... More

This place has been serving great Italian coffee before Starbucks, or the other chains started. So now that it out of the way! Great coffee is served here, awesome Cappuccino or Latte or espresso, a good selection of classic Italian pastries and snacks are available, I love a big slice of Pannetone with my coffee or if I want a... We four friends, inspired by heady Soho memories of 30 years ago, dropped by for late coffee, post-theatre -Thursday evening. Soho was a-buzz with life-affirming vibrancy, but not in Bar Italia, which was empty. Flat whites were happily requested and we perched ourselves next to the window. After 5 mins of chat we had to admit that things had not... More

A classic. A step back in time to simple days. Espresso the way it should be. Food available but didn't try. Grab a stool or a seat outside and watch the world go by in Soho.

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
