Small bar but absolutely a must

I came here a lot of time to enjoy a beer and take a benefit to watch an Italian football match Serie A. Quite small inside but when they show the match the bar is fully packed, really nice be here in that occasion. You could easily find it in Soho district.

I've been to Bar Italia for an espresso with all Italian friends and it was the worst espresso I've ever had by far. Also very expensive, £2.50 each, and the staff not particularly kind. You can find much better and much cheaper espresso in London for sure.

Today we (all Italians) have been here for a coffee and we paid £2.30 for an espresso, the coffee wasn't good and way too expensive. Really not worth it!

There are coffee shops and there is Bar Italia, the best place to go for coffee in London. Also the place for perfect hangover breakfast of sausage and egg ciabbatta after a night out!!!!

dropped into Bar Italia after a lovely dinner to have an expresso. We have been dropping into Bar Italia for coffee for decades but on this occasion was absolutely horrified to be charged £35 for two double expresso's and two shots of Grappa - the coffee might be expensive but worth it - beware of the price of alcohol!

Bar Italia: would you come here because it's cool? Not really. Would you come here because you can expect to experience the real 'Italian style espresso'? Probably not as there are surely better places in London for such a drink. But I can not miss to visit this place at least once a week and sit outside smoking my Toscano... More

If you want real espresso , this is the best place to go in London. Bar Italia. The staff is really friendly. They also served us a wonderful Mimosa cocktail , which was not on the list. Pizza is also delicious.

Bar Italia is a true Soho institution. The tiled floor and wood panelling help ensure this coffee bar retains a sense of originality and character that so many chain stores can't buy. Grab a stool inside or enjoying people watching at one of the outdoor tables. Cappuccino comes highly recommended with a slice of one of the many delicious cakes... More

Whilst wondering around Old Crompton Street & Soho needed a coffee & sit down to rest aching legs. Had already booked to eat in Little Italy (restaurant next door) later in day so it made perfect sense to try Bar Italia. Have been to Italy several times & having a coffee here really felt authentic. Great strong tasting coffee &... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
