The Bar Italia is not a place to hang out in daytime. But it's one of the world's best places for a strong espresso doppio in the middle of the night. Everyone is going here - police, fire fighters, clubbers, old and young folks. A true Soho caffein treat!

I'm glad I stopped by for a quick break at Bar Italia today, I have heard about the place before and when I walked passed, I thought "ah what the heck huh". I sat down and ordered a black coffee and it really was something special; you really have to try it for yourself. The staff members were very friendly... More

Things change quickly in Soho. Restaurants, scenes, fads and trends come and go. Bar Italia seems to have sat there doing it's thing from the beginning of time. No fuss. Excellent coffee, abrupt but lively Italian service especially from Giorgio! Grab yourself a homemade panini, the chicken escalope one packed with tomato, mozarella and doused in olive oil will fill... More

And yes, it was worth it! It is a little expensive but then you are in the heart of London and god is the coffee good! Before I went I read some of the reviews. Anyone who thinks the service was in anyway poor must have visited on an off day because we found them all very helpful and jolly.... More

If you like people watching and appreciate good coffee there's no better place to go in London than Bar Italia. Set in the middle of Soho there's a whole wonderful diversity of London life going by every day and night for that matter.

Set in the heart of Soho, this institution still serves excellent coffee and the service is good. The decor has not changed since it opened, and money is collected in an old press key till. There is plenty to see and tal about. The paninis are tasty, but rather expensive though.

Great coffee, really nice sandwiches (try the Parma-ham, tomato & mozzarella panini), a small selection of proper Italian pizzas and some really nice desserts. All that in the heart of Soho, with a great authentic London atmosphere.

A classic Italian cafe in the heart of Soho. Fantastic food and coffee authentic without pretension. A cast of regulars and a staff of people with character.

A bit of an accident going here, but received quite a pleasant toasted sandwich and carrot juice. Service was friendly and they even let us inside with a greyhound! We had to tie her up of course, but this saved us getting wet. It's not cheap, but then again you are slap bang in the middle of Soho, so around... More
