Opened in 1946 in Mayfair, Franco's restaurant has been one of London's most popular Italian establishments ever since. It continues to offer local gourmets a tranquil oasis away from the buzz of the city. Set at the St Jamess end of Jermyn Street, Franco's is fantastically located for the galleries, private clubs and hotels of the area. And the pre-theatre and afternoon tea menus are a delight. The restaurants character evolves throughout the day from the early morning breakfasts to laid-back lunches and romantic candlelit dinners in the evening. The elegant 1940s-inspired dcor is bright and modern, with light wood, off-white walls and comfy upholstered dining chairs. Franco's sumptuous Mediterranean menu has been developed by Head Chef Paulo Parlanti and showcases fresh seasonal produce in traditional and modern Italian dishes. Popular dishes include the duck breast with Castelluccio lentils; ossobucco ravioli with veal jus; and the classic tiramisu. Service is flawless and the wine list is a winner too.

Great food, great wine

My partner and I had a three course meal, each course was delicious, as were our mixed drinks and bottle of wine (very good wine!). The staff were exceptional, and attended to our every need. We were very happy with the experience, and would recommend Franco's to everyone (although it is a bit... read more

If you are willing to pay a premium for good food, I would reccomend giving this place a try. I ordered the Rocket tagliatelle with prawns, black olives, tomato & chilli and thought it was great. Very tasty bread and great coffees. I would recommend this place over a lot of other pricier options in the area.

I went with a business colleague and was highly recommended to this Restaurant. On entry, the restaurant looked good and attentive staff. The food was mediocre and a starter of salmon we had to ask for lemon. We had to ask for butter for the bread. The main course pasta was bland and nothing special from what I would have... More

Pre-theatre supper for 4 out of towners. Misunderstanding over price from internet, manager printed Google sheet out for us. Delicious salmon tartar starter and guinea fowl main course. Speedy service to get us to the theatre on time. Very attentive staff. Not cheap, but good food.

Brilliant Service, Food, Atmosphere. Other reviews have commented on the 'tasteless painting at reception' myself and my partner both love this painting and cannot understand the negative comments. The politeness of all the staff is second to none. The quality of the food is fantastic.

Dear James W Thank you for writing your review and posting your appreciation of our wonderful Gordon Mitchell painting in the reception. Whilst she is rather controversial we find the majority of our guests really enjoy seeing her on each visit. We’re delighted you enjoyed your experience with us. Kindest Regards Jason Phillips More

The food here is very good. I may take some time (but not too much) for the food to arrive, but that's because making delicious food is not instantaneous. The starters are very good but sometimes small, but the main courses are the Jewels of the Crown. If the main course doesn't fill you, there's always room for their splendid... More

We wandered in, during a busy day of shopping, wanting coffee and cake, without realising that beyond the bar was a restaurant. The delightful waitress said that they would be more than happy to serve us desserts and ten minutes later we were tucking into two beautiful puddings, with excellent matched wines. Coffee followed. So we have no idea what... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
