Opened in 1946 in Mayfair, Franco's restaurant has been one of London's most popular Italian establishments ever since. It continues to offer local gourmets a tranquil oasis away from the buzz of the city. Set at the St Jamess end of Jermyn Street, Franco's is fantastically located for the galleries, private clubs and hotels of the area. And the pre-theatre and afternoon tea menus are a delight. The restaurants character evolves throughout the day from the early morning breakfasts to laid-back lunches and romantic candlelit dinners in the evening. The elegant 1940s-inspired dcor is bright and modern, with light wood, off-white walls and comfy upholstered dining chairs. Franco's sumptuous Mediterranean menu has been developed by Head Chef Paulo Parlanti and showcases fresh seasonal produce in traditional and modern Italian dishes. Popular dishes include the duck breast with Castelluccio lentils; ossobucco ravioli with veal jus; and the classic tiramisu. Service is flawless and the wine list is a winner too.

Good food, good service, pricey but worth it

This is a lovely restaurant with modern but warm decor and good service. Food was faultless and the service too. This is one of the more expensive restaurants in the area, but worth it.

Overpriced food and not particularly nice to eat!! I was going to see a show with a colleague and we didn't have a lot of time. This place was close the theatre but alarm should have gone off as it was nowhere near as busy as anywhere else. I have never before experienced Pollo Cacciatora with all of the chicken... More

I've been going to Franco's for a few years now, and the food and service is always impeccable. But since they have redecorated the restaurant it feels like a whole new place! I love it! It feels very glamorous and luxurious, I like the colour palette and the addition of the banquets and the mirror paneling means you can check... More

I visited on valentines with my girlfriend. Upon walking in above the reception is a grossly inappropriate nude, female of course, and the general interior was of a stereotypical masculine 'Italian restaurant'. The food whilst passable was not enhanced by having to remind the waiter of the fact we ordered wine to accompany it - that was met with a... More

This was my first trip to Franco's and it does have a lovely atmosphere and a beautiful interior. The tables are a little crowded, especially with a the large number of waiting staff rushing around. Service was very attentive. Crab and avocado is favourite of mine but the starter here was a little bland. The crab was also laced with... More

Ive been breakfasting at Franco's at least once a week for nearly 2 years. Lovely staff, warm welcome each time. Unfailingly excellent food and service. It's quite expensive but no more than others of comparable quality. The attention to detail strikes me as first class. I have very infrequently had any cause for concern, and observe that issues are quickly... More

I went with a friend for dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Very tasty food and we took advantage of a meal deal they had. The service was excellent.

Business dinner after a long day at the coal face. Charming staff, great food, good buzz and a price to make eyes water! But what do you expect in St James'. Never fails to deliver quality in a charming ambience.

The newly refurbished Franco's deserves a visit and is to be highly recommended. Smart, but not stuffy, the ambience is friendly without becoming obtrusive. The service was warm and attentive without ever being over familiar and distracting. In fact it was impeccable. The weekly set menu was good value: I enjoyed a pear, cheese and lettuce salad starter (much better... More

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
