A proper Japanese canteen

Kulukulu has 3 locations in London: Covent Garden, Soho and Knightsbridge. It serves sushi on a carrousel so be prepare to sit on stools without back rest, but the food is proper Japanese, delicious and inexpensive. It served our purpose well in providing convenient and passable sushi, close to Covent Garden, efficiently and at a reasonable price. Although the model of sushi on a conveyor belt is not as novel as it once was, the food was of consistent quality which is often not the case with this serving method

I'm always on the hunt for new lunchtime places in my area, so was delighted to come across a conveyor belt sushi place close by. I went here with my partner for a quick bite to eat and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sushi. It was well-made (soft white rice, cool refreshing fish), fresh and reasonably varied.... Popped in at lunchtime and absolutely loved it! Plenty for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. The Japanese tea is also lovely. Unbelievable prices. We visited again 2 days later before hopping back on the train!! Each time we were both pretty full for just over £20!!! will be back!!

An excellent little find with delicious sushi and Japanese dishes. Great for a quick lunch/dinner with friends or solo. Somewhere you will always find yourself heading back to!

Small conveyor belt sushi restaurant that serves good quality sushi at tremendous prices. I've never managed to leave a sushi restaurant with a bill of £30 for 2 before! Salmon sashimi is excellent value, and tempura prawn hand rolls are delicious. On the minus side, there isn't a Japanese chef in sight, and service is erratic at best. Gyoza were... More

Everything I like about sushi & Japanese food without the pretentiousness. Super fresh sushi on the belt and lots of variety. Very good. No tourists despite being in Covent Garden!!

Been visiting all 3 central KKs for 15 years. Love that it's so reliably the same good value range of sushi and plates. Less fancy than UK chains but better for it. Free green tea is a bonus. Fuss free self service works fine once you've been a few times.

Lunch with an old friend. Nine plates between us plus free green tea. Fresh and tasty. £22.50 the lot. Brilliant.

This is one of my favourite quick stop sushi places in London. The sushi is on a conveyor belt - a la Yo Sushi - but the atmosphere is much less corporate. The decor is pretty basic but the food and service are good and the prices are reasonable. There's a sister restaurant in Soho which is just the same.
