The Thai Square Restaurant Group was founded in 1996 when the first Thai Square opened in The Strand in central London, aimed at serving tasty, authentic Thai food in Thai-inspired surroundings. There are now twelve London-based restaurants and 3 restaurants outside London. All our restaurants provide the same good value dining experience and we have plans to expand on this unique restaurant concept to open in more major UK cities and other European countries in the future. All Thai Square restaurants use authentic Thai ingredients freshly flown in daily from Thailand, in a range of exquisite dishes served by our charming and attentive Thai staff. The appeal of Thai cuisine lies in fresh flavours and in featuring some dishes that have a kick of chilli. Diners with a more European taste simply need to ask for their favourite dishes with a less spicy flavour - we will be happy to oblige.

Dined by chance mid-week. Ate Thai style - mix of appetisers and mains together. Good fish cakes Tod Mon Pla, spicy Somtam salad (papaya salad), drunken duck and a solid curry. All the food was tasty and most quite spicy. Presentation of some dishes was slightly lacklustre but that didn't affect the flavour. A Singha beer and glass of Pinot... More

Went here for a pre-theatre dinner. They had a set menu for £14 with a small selection of dishes to choose from. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food and cleaned our plates. I thought it was great value, really tasty and a great price. Would highly recommend and definitely go back.

I stopped in to Thai Square on the Strand as a random selection. I was drawn in my the menu and the prices. The ambiance is nice, and it a less noisy restaurant. I selected the Kor Moo Yang, which is billed in the menu as the house specialty pork. It is marinated and barbequed. The flavor is amazing and... More

Not all Thai Square's are created equal. This one is easily the best and has become my regular, mainly because the staff are so friendly, attentive, and competent. I've never waited long to order or for the food. It's solid and, as another reviewer said, 'reliable' Thai food, though I would highly recommend the green chicken curry with coconut rice... More

Had been to Thai Square Trafalgar at the beginning of the year, and decided to visit this one as it was only a few doors down from our hostel. Had 3 course set pre-theatre menu for £14 which was a bargain. Thai dumplings, Red Chicken Curry and chilled lychees for dessert ( there is another name for these but it... More

I visited Thai Square with a friend who was visiting from Chicago. It was not busy do we got a table immediately. The staff were friendly and did not rush us. Whilst the food was lovely and nicely presented, I did find the portions to be quite small. I've been to much better Thai restaurants in London and elsewhere.

Had a decent enough meal here but found the staff rather 'vacant' - we were waiting for one person to join us which we told the staff however were nonetheless repeatedly asked if we were ready to order before they arrived. Food ok. Limited drinks choice for those avoiding alcohol and wanting something fresh.

I Had a booking for 5.30pm Saturday night (31 Jan). They left a message on my phone (at 1.30) saying the credit card machine was broken and that they would only be able to accept cash. So I went to the bank and got cash. I arrived at the restaurant at 5.20 pm to find the lights on, door locked,... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
