Nice Authentic Chinese meal

After my wife and I attended the Anniversary games we decided to go to China Town for a meal. we considered a couple of restaurants before deciding on The Overseas. We were encouraged to find that there was no service charge a bonus when eating in London. We chose the Set Menu for 2 starting with... read more

Like most of the restaurants in the area, Oversea Chinese Restaurant offers menus for two people. After looking at easily a dozen restaurant and menus, my wife and I chose OCR because the menu offering were among the most interesting for the price. The menu for two consists of a choice of two appetizers, shredded duck with pancakes, and a... More

I have been to this restaurant a number of time, both in it's current guise and it's previous. Each time I had never been disappointed hence the return trips. However my last visit was pretty bad. Everything was just drowned in soy sauce and so salty, I can only assume the regular chef was having a day off and some... More

Service was unfriendly. Food was like any sub par chinese restaurant except that the peking duck was super slimy and revolting. This restaurant would never stay in business where repeat business was needed. They are lucky that they are on Gerrard Street with the endless supply of tourists.

We went for a family lunch mid-week and we were impressed with the food, and the service was fine. There was the usual choice of dim sum but all were tasty and fresh. We particularly liked the prawn dumplings, baked roast pork buns, and the bean curd crispy rolls. We also had the fried beef ho fun noodles....all washed down... More

We have tried a few restaurants in Chinatown and this one was very nice. I don't expect anything other than efficient service when coming to Chinatown, it's always been get you in and out without the typical friendly service to drive repeat custom. This place was much the same, but the food was very good. worth a go... The peking... More

One thing that attracted us to the restaurant was the fact that they offered 20% discount for students. The condition of the discount was excluding bank holiday and Chinese new year. After we had our meal we requested for the bill and told the manager that we had an NUS card. The manager then said the condition says excluding bank... More

I was introduced to this place by my friends, and I am very happy to have gone there. The crispy duck they had was absolutely delicious, and all the other food we had was so good as well. Recommended for all those who like Chinese food!

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
