Great chicken, though not cheap

We live just round the corner from the restaurant, so have visited a few times, and I recently held my birthday dinner in the private dining area also. Everytime we have visited, the food has been absolutely delicious. The venue is very nicely decorated and the staff are always friendly. As... read more

If you are in North London and like chicken, then Le Coq is the place to visit for simple but elegant food. You can book a table through there website, which is advisable if planning a visit during the 'busy periods'. Well worth a visit.

Really delicious chicken here! Simple menu (which works well for someone as indecisive as me), big portions, a cosy atmosphere and friendly staff! All the sides and other items on the menu were lovely too. Apparently they offer takeout too so will be trying that very soon!!

Tiny starter and a quarter chicken, nothing special, felt like it should have cost a lot less than £57 for two (incl 3glasses of wine and service at 12.5). Sorry we went at all and won't be going back. It felt mean.

I have walked past this restaurant every day and always though it looked nice, so tried it out last week. I did not enjoy the visit. In my opinion, the menu was very limited and what was served up was hugely overpriced. The starters were minuscule and the main was two small pieces of average chicken with oven baked gem... More

Booked a table for two plus a highchair on April 12th. Even the booking was super-friendly and we were delighted with the service from start to finish. Mackerel/aubergine starter for me - white broccoli with lardo and lemon for my child's auntie. Rotisserie-dripping potatoes and green salad (with tarragon mayo) accompanied some lovely chicken - clearly well-sourced and tasty with... More

The concept is quite cute: rotisserie chicken made fancy. But don't be deceived - this is just cheap rotisserie chicken. The food was pretty flavourless, small portions, ridiculously expensive for what you get (battery farm, palid-looking roast chicken and a bit of artichoke), drinks hugely over priced (£5+ for .33cl beer), our party of 5 was shunted onto a tiny... The ambiance is relaxed with communal. The rotisserie is on full display and you’ll see a line of chefs preparing the food just in front of it. The decor makes use of rough wood, decorative tiles, copper and stained glass giving the space a warm, natural feel. The menu changes weekly and is minimalist to say the least with a... More
