Description: Linnea is the first venture of the Swedish born chef-owner Jonas Karlsson...
Linnea is the first venture of the Swedish born chef-owner Jonas Karlsson (former Executive chef at Harvey Nichols). Jonas will be concentrating on a modern European seasonal menu, with Swedish influences and monthly changes. The perfect "neighbourhood" restaurant is located on Kew Green, opposite Kew Gardens and just a stones throws away from the River Thames and Kew Bridge. With a monthly changing, seasonal and mouth watering menu the food on offer is always interesting and exciting. The wine list contains around 70 different types of wine and a small range of beers and ciders.

Located by Kew Green, a walk over Kew Bridge from the overground station, Linnea is a charming restaurant from it's chef/proprietor. Many of dishes have a Swedish twist on a classic and there are some modern touches with foams and powders providing flavour in subtle ways such as a horseradish powder with beef carpaccio. There are about half a dozen... More

My wife and I have driven past this restaurant a number of times and always expressed a desire to try it out and were very pleased to have finally got around to it. We both enjoyed a 3 course dining experience where I had a Truffle and Mushroom soup to start, Salmon fish Cakes for the main course and a... More

We had dinner for two - to start grilled river trout and marinated gravad beef, main - pan fried calves liver and salmon fish cakes (best ever !) and to finish my wife had pineapple carpaccio with chilli and lime, soft cheese mouse. She said it was the best she had ever tasted and refused to let me have even... More

Roasted fish cooked very well. Great mushroom truffle soup and nice pudding and cheese. Riesling was good. Service was good. Our main problem was the ventilation. The open kitchen was good but the ventilation was poor. We could smell burnt oil/smoke in the whole dining area. Staff confirmed that this is not unusual. No broken ventilation today etc. If you... Friday night supper, relaxed and elegant setting with superb food and wine. This place definitely will be a regular haunt for us now. Service so friendly and such good value. Just a little empty for a Friday so I hope local punters continue to support this wonderful find

We had heard good things about Linnea, but we were still surprised at what a great experience we had. Sophisticated yet simply prepared food makes the most of top quality ingredients. Elegant, almost minimalist room, with lovely views of Kew Green. Excellent, attentive service from Jan and the chef, who came to our table. We are lucky to live close... More

From the first contact this restaurant was so eful as we had food allergies to consider and were a large party. Nothing was too much problem and the 3 courses chosen pleased us all

I had the beetroot and goats cheese tortellini which was absolutely delicious. Beautifully presented and great flavours. We were there at lunchtime on a Thursday and it wasn't very busy at all so our waiter gave great service! I just hope they're getting enough trade to keep going as it is a real gem of a restaurant.

We visited this restaurant just after new year, using an Amazon voucher, not knowing anything about it. Having bought the voucher months ago I couldn't even remember the menu or the offer. Many voucher deals end up a bit of a disappointment as the food choices are restricted to cheaper ingredients or the portion size is reduced. NOT at Linnea,... More
