Friday night Fish & Chips

Friendly, efficient, speedy service. Busy so good turnaround making the fish fresh & hot. Not sitting around in the cabinet for ages. Portions very generous. Large chips plenty for two & fish is a good size. Batter seemed to be a bit on the oily side but this could be from sweating in the wrapping... read more

This fish and chip shop is an absolute must-visit. The food is standard British fish and chips and the usual suspects regarding pies, etc. The fish is of an excellent quality, tastes great and the generous and tasty chips are right up there with the best. Watch out though - those portions are very generous. We usually share a portion... More

Staying in a nearby air bnb, my girlfriend and I needed a quick meal as we'd just arrived on a 14 hour flight!!! What a gem!!! Bought ourselves a piece of fish each and a serve of chips and headed off home. Well the pieces of fish were delicious but HUGE!!! Serve of chips also super generous as well. Really... More

It was the first time ever that we ate fish and chips and the staff noticed we wern't knowledgeable at all, so they explained everything about the types of fish thay had on display. The fish tasted really good and we appreciated that the chips were home-made, which in my home-country is a rare treat (I went to much more... More

First night in London and I decided to try the local chippy. The chippy itself was clean and inviting with the normal smells enticing people in. I ordered fish and chips with a savloy. I found the batter heavy and nowhere near as light as Jason's back home. I also wish they'd skinned the fish as well. The chips were... More

Great tastningen incredibly fresh, as if we are right by the sea, freshly caught fish. Very large portions. Keep in mind it is takeout only. We found a bench at the nearby church. Several people pasing by, asked where we got it, that's how delish it looked

As always had a good take-away from here this evening. It's not as a previous viewer suggested a tourist trap as it's in a parade of local shops 10 mins walk from Victoria where tourists aren't likely to come. Fish was cooked fresh for us as it always is - my aunt who has been coming here for years went... More

Being a Brit born & bred I've eaten a fair bit of fish & chips over the years - this has to be up there with the very best. Despite a previous review, I have to say that prices here are excellent - well below average (you can pay around £15 a portion in some places) and this is fish... More

We were staying in the area for a 5 day trip in London. My family had never had fish and chips before so after a long day of sightseeing, we stopped off at this place on the way home. The fish was under a heat lamp but looked as if it it had been recently cooked and we were able... More

Staying in Pimlico

Neighborhood Profile
Pimlico
Time spent in Pimlico is a slower-paced affair than most other Central London neighborhoods. This largely residential area orderly arranged beside the Thames, is a treasure trove of quaint pubs, subtle architectural charms and local boutiques. Here, art lovers thrill at the chance to visit the world class Tate Britain gallery for its collection of British art from the 1500s to the present. For peace and quiet and some downtime spent along the Thames, Pimlico is highly recommended.
