The site of the first Real Greek restaurant, this Hoxton branch serves a popular menu of Greek 'street food' to a relaxed, buzzy crowd of workers and locals. Sharing platters, souvlaki and mezedes make up the bulk of the menu, with portions for children and a well-chosen list of wines and cocktails. The stylish interior has an unobtrusive, easygoing feel, and there are two rooms available for private functions.

Great burgers, fun atmosphere

Set in an old Mission church, Meat Mission offers burgers in an environment that juxtaposes the religious with the sin of gluttony. Great, juicy burgers served on a communal tray, which my friends commented on as the best chicken they had ever had. My green chilli burger was slightly too spicy even... read more

I have been here many times now, once making a 5-hour round trip to experience it and drag some friends along. The interior is bizarre but fascinating, the food is incredible, the drinks are varied and great, and the service is top notch. Last visit my friends & I took advantage of the photo booth to have a memento of... More

I went to Meat Mission on a Saturday evening for a meal with friends. We all shared some of the fried pickles, mac n cheese and bingo wings. Most people enjoyed the chicken and pickle dishes the most. Burgers and fries were ok but I found my cheeseburger a bit too soggy. They don't ask how you would like your... More

If you fancy a decent burger for a decent price this is place for you. The food is great - nothing 'special' but it is delicious. I think people who go with high expectations for food & service will be very disheartened as the food is served on trays covered with grease proof paper. The food is served quickly, hot... More

Nice juicy burgers. sometimes so juicy it falls apart and the bread becomes soggy fast, guess this depends on the eater. Warning- it does get messy, so take advantage of the kitchen roll!!!! Plenty of fries but nothing too fancy about them. Mozarella cheese fried pasta thing was a good side order, different but still good. Fantastic cocktails on the... More

Liked: fantastic burgers, decor, atmosphere, music (surprisingly not loud enough to completely void any attempts at having a conversation, as is often the case). Not so sure: Fries (anything but the simplest version is horrendously greasy), cocktails (tried a few and they were all way too sweet - I'm a grown-up and like my booze to actually taste of booze...).... Not a romantic place for a first date considering your food comes served on a shared metal tray and is full of greasy goodness. WARNING impossible to eat gracefully you will make a mess. I visited with a friend fairly early on a Tuesday night easily got a table and we were quickly served and food arrived soon after we... More

The burgers here are very good though not as good as Honest Burgers. The atmosphere though is excellent - glass tables reflecting the art on the ceiling - a mutation of The Last Supper. Sometimes service can be a bit slow but the quality of the beer and the chicken stripper things make up for it. The food here does... More

Great place, great character, topped with great burgers!! The ambience is great and casual. The music can be a tad bit loud for some looking for a quiet evening but not for me :) The service is great - lots of quick, proper attention. We went in on Wednesday evening and had to wait for a few minutes to be... More

Great as always. Dirty chicken burger is my favourite although I was a bit disappointed that they had taken the tobacco onions (little crispy onion ring nibbles) off the menu.

Staying in Shoreditch

Neighborhood Profile
Shoreditch
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighborhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbor can result in fascinating outcomes.
