Lakwatsa is a bubble tea lounge in Notting Hill. It serves a wide range of both fruity and milk-based bubble teas served in jam jars with oversized straws for sucking up the tapioca pearls. The merienda menu, inspired by Filipino snacks, includes spring rolls and adobo rice balls, as well as Asian classics like prawn tempura and spicy fried squid. Desserts include Filipino favourites like banana and jackfruit fritters, leche flan, and Halo Halo (shaved ice, evaporated milk and exotic toppings).

Asian comfort food

Afraid of eating asian food. Well this is the best getting your beak wet restaurant you can go to in England. The food is authentic Filipino fusion fare but its very clean. There's rice and other good food on the menu. Prices are fair and the place has a very good ambience to wile the time away and... read more

Been wanting to try this out and when we finally did, it was well worth it. A fan of Filipino food, I esp admired and loved their modern take on classic dishes. I could have ordered all the items on the menu. The Adobo Rice balls were a delight! First experience of bubble tea was also a success, yum! And... More

If you like bubble tea, this is the place to be. Lots of choices! They also have a good selection to various teas. The ambience is trendy and youthful plus right next to Portobello Road. The food they serve is lovely. The spring rolls are recommended. They also have day food specials so ask for it before ordering. Friendly service!... More

I first visited this restaurant to see my friend perform in one of Lakwatsa's monthly open mic sessions. During this time I was studying abroad in London and was hoping to find a good milk tea place to satisfy my milk tea cravings (I am from Northern California). I tried their original bubble tea and honeydew and thought they were... More

Why, because it is less sweet (if you ask no sugar) than the Bubblelogy of this world. Great diversity of flavours, friendly service. Nothing special, just quality of bubble tea.

I went back after a rather unhappy visit (well, there was no food on offer) and this time THERE WAS FOOD! I had a halo-halo which was lovingly presented and extremely well made. Well done, I will certainly come back again; the place is always very cute and atmospheric, and the service very courteous.

Best ever food and drink I've ever had . Lovely service and atmosphere. Definitely recommend to everyone. Also better than close rival bubbleology. Bubbleology have terrible drinks compared to this. Food is tasty

I have become a fan of bubble tea ever since I tried the first one elsewhere. But when I tried it here I don't bother going anywhere else. I recommend the coconut milk tea with lychee and tapioca. Just make sure they don't make it too sweet. Nice surroundings to walk around and they sell small bites as well, so... More

The place looks wonderful and spotless clean and tidy and has tons of potential. Sadly, it seems difficult to find it open on a weekday. When I visited at 12.30 on a Tuesday I was told that the kitchen was closed and they didn't know when it would open. Guys, pull yourself together. You've built a cosy little corner and... More

The quality of service is always of a high standard; being greeted with friendly and enthusiastic employees. What is even better is the quality of the bubble tea drinks and their selection of oriental dishes. The decor is also innovative and sets such a radiant and relaxing atmosphere. People reading this review must make a visit to this store!

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
