Zoe's is a good value restaurant on Upper Street. The style is quirky if you're being nice but outdated if you're being honest. However, there is nothing average about the service. Everyone is really friendly and fun and you can imagine that people would come back for the service alone. The drinks menu is well priced for cocktails as well.... More

For those who do not know Upper Street, Islington it starts at Highbury Corner in the north and runs southwards towards The Angel. It becomes more refined as you walk in this direction and towards the southern end there is a proliferation of quite smart eateries catering for a wide range of tastes. Zoe Restaurant is somewhere in the middle.... More

Went here for a friend's birthday. The staff were really friendly and gave complimentary bubbly to the birthday girl, had decorated the table and also a complimentary dessert + candle. A very good choice of French food. Well cooked, tasty and good portion size. Only slight gripe is that we were sat at the back and it got really warm... More

While staying in Islington we ate in eight restaurants that we just happened upon. This place was small and did not appear fancy or impressive, so we thought we would pop in for a simple dinner. What a surprise - the food was fantastic, the prices were more than reasonable. The owner was friendly and enthusiastic, a genuinely nice guy.... More

I am so pleased I discovered this restaurant. I did not book and popped in for an early supper on a Saturday night. The waiter was so warm and friendly. It is a small place but really cute. I had the poached egg with asparagus and the bouillabaisse. The food was fresh, tasty and very well presented. I was offered... More

Went to Zoe to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary. We were welcomed with complimentary champagne cocktail and roses, although we had mentioned it was our anniversary when we booked - but such a nice gesture. The food was excellent, with a huge choice, including vegetarian options. The service was also very attentive and we will definitely be going back.

Often use tripadvisor as a reference, and have always found it reliable, not this time. Turned up and the restaurant was closed!!! Was told it was because of a tube strike (which was cancelled 3 days earlier). 15 minutes later we were served starters?? I'm sure these came out of the freezer, our main courses (rabbit casserole and kangaroo steak)... More

I went to Zoe to celebrate my grandma's birthday. We got seafood and mussels and everything was great and tasty, the same for the lapin and the tartare. The service was great and the waiter was really courteous with my grandma. Prices are average, not so expensive considering the area. I would recommend it.

This was our 2nd visit within 6 months. First visit was lovely food but male waiter far too over the top with the service. Bordering on creepy. So the second visit yesterday was to eradicate the negatives on the first visit. On arrival, no booking, staff were very polite and helpful. But again....They were very over the top with service....
