Dark, noisy but interesting mexican cuisine

Went as guests of overseas friends. It is located in a basement the entrance being shared with a strip club which can be a bit daunting and difficult to find if not forewarned! The music is very loud and it is very dark to the point where we had to put on the lights on our mobile phones to read... read more

Took my boyfriend for our anniversary as a surprise. Trying to walk in to a peep show was quite funny. You cant tell it is a restaurant and ita funny to see how they turn people away that think its a real sex shop. Once you confirm you have reaervations they will point you to the atairs to the basement.... More

Had a nice cold beer and snacks at the bar of this lively Mexican restaurant before seeing 'The Commitments' in Cambridge Circus. Staff friendly, service very prompt, atmosphere intimate. Loved it so much we went back for dinner after the show and had more beers with delicious tortiilas and burritos. Great find.

After being recommended La bodega Negra by a friend, I was not let down. Walking through a sex shop greeted by 2 ladies, was a bit fun. I walked into the bar area, as we arrived early for drink. The bar was great & the margarita's were quick to the table. The staff were very good telling our group about... More

Was staying in London for mine and my partners anniversary and found this quirky Mexican spot online which had our tastebuds tingling so reserved a table Easter Sunday. (5th April 2015) Had read online what to look out for but would be difficult or even unknown to somebody walking past. It does look like a strip club from the outside... More

I've been there for dinner with a friend. We have eaten very well and drank even better. The music is loud, so I wouldn't recommend it to a family, but for a group of friends it's a lovable and cozy place where to spend a very nice evening. The service has been great, the waitresses have been fast and very... More

When we first entered late Saturday night and waited at the bar for our table, the loud house music was cool and I thought I could like this place having found a non-cliche sombrero-free Mexican as requested by my boyfriend. By the time we were seated that had spiralled into queso unfortunately. Hey ho. This place is not cheap (£200... More

Sometimes drinking out on a relatively quiet Monday doesn't guarantee you the best service. We swung into the Bodega around 10pm for a couple of drinks, expecting to benefit from the quieter vibe, but instead we sat and we sat and we sat, watching a young female barkeep mixing interminable drinks for the tables and avoiding our increasingly baleful eye.... Don't be unnerved by the entrance. The door appears to be the entrance to a private sex show, and the leather clad gentleman behind the door does little to reassure you you're entering the restaurant. But that's all part of the experience. The caverns of the restaurant, the menu, the margaritas, the waiting staff - all superb. A great night... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
