Overpriced but fun

This place is dark. i.e. there are no lights only candlelight. Lovely atmosphere but could not read the menu or see the food.! So we asked the waiter to choose a selection of starters for us - mistake as he chose the most expensive!. The food is delicious and the service very efficient .Probably... read more

What a great, quirky restaurant! I'd definitely advise going in a group ordering tapas style and all dig in and share. The menu is small but perfectly formed- a good mix of styles and authentic recipes, from delicate ceviche to slow roast hunks of meat and everything in between (no "cover it in lime juice and coriander and call it... we decided to check out this place as a treat as it was my friends birthday and another ones leaving party. the menu is quite limited and not such a Mexican vibe as its cafe is. its also very expensive for small portions, but we went as it was a special treat with a cool interior so was happy to... Beyond annoyed. The end of this lovely catch up meal with friends was ruined by an extremely rude manager. We opted out of paying the 'discretionary service charge' after all members of the table simply didn't believe that we should pay a 12.5% charge to the staff that are also paid minimum wage like the rest of society. The manager... More

Perfect for a date or a group of friends. A good surprise venue. I took my cousin as a birthday treat. It's quite hard to review this place without ruining the experience. I didn't read any reviews before I went, I saw it on a 'quirky places to eat' web search. It was much better than I ever expected and... More

We were really looking forward to eating here after hearing good things, but with all the amazing places to eat in London we really wish we'd gone elsewhere. Only in London for 2 nights and going here ruined one of them! Kept waiting for 50 minutes for our table, despite booking in advance. We were told the table before us... More

Expensive for what you get, for example the guacamole comes in a small bowl with 6 tacos chips laid out on the side! The margaritas are also much smaller than elsewhere. If the food had been fantastic it might have been worth it, but it was mediocre. And they rush you to order, there is no chance of having a... More

Passing through the doors it appears one is walking into a sex shop but alas no it's just an amazing restaurant. The food was absolutely fabulous. The staff very friendly and the decor is amazing. Dishes are made for sharing and honestly are just gorgeous. The cocktails are amazing too. Glad we booked as it was very busy when we... More

A small group of us went last night, the entrance is brilliant, just as if walking into a peep show or sex shop, then downstairs is a dark cavern of a restaurant.Very cool and once side has lovely lights and wall art. We had a great corner round table. The margaritas were amazing, spiced pear especially. We didn't have starters... More

I had emailed in advance and been told on email to pop down because we wanted to get there at 11pm for a drink before going back to the hotel rather then booking in for food. I had read things online that other people had seemed to do this and it was ok, but when we got there the reception... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
