Me and my wife live locally but have never been to Adulis before. Our loss, because the food is unusual and very good and Eritrean honey wine is not to be missed. A sharing platter for two is all you'll need unless you are super hungry. The service is maybe a tad slow but good-natured, and we weren't in a... More

there were 4 of us and not too busy on a Friday night. Food was good (not great) and different. Authentic and based on a finger style eating which is I guess traditional for North Africa. Great service, really good staff. We had the 4 person sharer which was enough food but not a huge amount of food for over... More

My other half and I have eaten here a couple of times (most recently before heading out on NYE), and I can highly recommend it. The menu is exotic and interesting, but everything we've eaten there has been superb. You must try the spring roll-type starter, as well as their hommous and flat bread. The main meals are a good... Which sounds awful, but was great. Instead of cutlery you scoop up the tasty morsels with a substance that can only be described as like a loose weave wet suit. The honey wine is worth a try- by the glass not the bottle. if your a coffee fiend, you have to try the coffee ceremony, worth it for the smell... More

MMy husband chose this restaurant as it was easy for his daughter to get to after work and it had a decent vegetarian selection. We went on a Tuesday night so the place was not too busy. We didn't have any starters so I couldn't comment on that, but the mains were all interesting. I had the spicy chicken, which... More

Was looking for somewhere to go the spur of the moment and this looked interesting. I enjoyed it but not sure everyone did. Good flavours apart from the pancake thing they served it with, which was a bit bland.

We were greeted by friendly staff who offered to talk us through the menu. We went for the platters served on Injera, to which the staff did offer rice and asked if we wanted it served authentically. The food was amazing! and really good value. The decor and cleanliness of the restaurant was high and the staff were happy to... More

I love this restaurant and go therewhenever I'm in the area but they have two things to work on: it takes an unusual long time from the order to receiving the food - looks like there is one chef in the kitchen and not quick enough to get the food ready in 20-30min. I sometimes waited 40min to get the... More

We went here on Friday and had a very enjoyable dinner. The venue was a little quiet upon our arrival (19.30) but soon livened up. The service we received was extremely friendly if a tiny bit on the slow side. The food very nice and certainly the restaurant was filled with delightful smells throughout the time we dined. Some of the food is quite tasty, but as it's all the same consistency, the texture gets pretty boring. It's also quite cold as it is in little mounds on the platter and you pick it up with strips of cold dough. Slow service too
