As a concept it seems to me that this is where fine dining in London is heading. Chilled atmosphere, relaxed service, not too many tables, cool bar, limited menu. I don't believe however that there is much of a place for under par food, even if it is only £59 for a 7 course tasting menu. There were some highlights.... More

It's not the restaurant's fault it got so much hype early on. But it sets expectations high, not just for the food but for the evening as a whole. The food is good: inventive, delicious and beautifully presented. But I didn't like the clattering, metallic atmosphere or the loud background music. And while the staff tried to be helpful, it... We had the tasting menu... Great value for london.. Service was very good, well informed, friendly and slick. Every course we had was very good, yes it's a bit noisy and yes it's very modern decor but this all adds to the experience. Overall I would return for lunch or dinner

This restaurant with its very simple decor and interesting bar area down stairs presents food with the most amazing flavours. The tasting menu was a delight. The main ingredients, which would appeal to the majority(no challenging offal as is currently in vogue at many trendy restaurants) were combined with the most intriguing, subtle and lovely flavours. Every course on the... More

I expected my dinner at Dabbous to be the best meal of my life and therein lies its challenge. There was so much incredible publicity when it opened, it takes such a long time to get a table, so expectations are very high and unfortunately in my opinion Dabbous did not live up to them. Pea and mint to start... More

Yes it was hyped up by media. Yes if you get a booking you feel a bit chuffed with yourself. No, sadly its just dont up to scratch these days. The 7 courses for £59 was hugely overpriced. Some of the savoury dishes were interesting (garlic scapes being one), only one was wow (the peas and mint - tasty and... More

I visited Dabbous for lunch with friends, as we found it almost impossible to get a dinner reservation. We had the set lunch menu at a very reasonable £28 for four courses. Each course was exquisitely prepared and very unusual but with a fantastic balance of flavours. The star of the show was the dessert, simply named 'vanilla', it was... More

Set lunch menu was just very good and very different. The staff were helpful and friendly. Peas with mint and corn on the cob with meadowsweet were amazing.

Well below par. Really very, very un-inspiring food. Definitely won't be going again. Absolutely would not recommend it.

Like every other self-proclaimed restaurant fanatic in London, I have spent many months hitting the phones trying to secure a table at Dabbous, so was over the moon to hit the jackpot of a table for 6, on a Friday night. Result. We started with drinks in Oskars bar, which has a brilliant and original cocktail list, and frankly had... More
