Good food, well-priced and good service

Having heard and read a lot about Dabbous I was excited when a friend offered to take me there for lunch. I was not disappointed, and arriving slightly early I had a Campari and soda (it was hot and sunny) and checked out the menu and winelist. Both were interesting and when the food arrived (lunch... read more

We visited Dabbous with the best hopes of having an extraordinary culinary experience thru its tasting menu. It was very good and definitely all dishes were well cooked with excellent ingredients. But something is missing in the cuisine, a plus factor that could make all the dishes innovative or unique. I am not sure to understand how they can sell... More

The food is not a full success but has moments of real class. And some not. The service is dreadful. Don't go there. Not for a £100 a head meal. We had the four course set meal. Started with alliums in pine broth. Sounds fascinating. Cold slices of onion in dishwater. Emperors new clothes. Next two courses were good. Cod... More

There's no way this place should have a Michelin star. The food was bland. Every dish was ok but lacked any seasoning or additional flavour which could have elevated it to another level. The onion soup was entirely lacking in flavour. The pig cheek overcooked and way too tough to eat. The fish dish watery and plain. The sponge pudding... More

I was a little hesitant about visiting this restaurant after reading some of the reviews on TA but I was pleasantly surprised at how good this restaurant is. It's young, modern with an interesting menu. I thought the menu was very reasonably priced and an excellent wine and cocktail selection. What I liked the most was that the food wasn't... More

food was good, I really enjoyed the mash potato and gravy course but went for the truffle supplement (£9 extra i think) and it didn't do anything for the dish. Entered an empty reaturant and they sat us at the worst table (next to the service entrance to the kitchen) and after being asked to move we were kind of... More

I recently dined at Dabbous and sampled the tasting menu. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and is unpretentious with an excellent and engaging front of house team. The food was innovative, interesting and very satisfying. The courses are small with excellent flavour combinations and I did not feel hungry or disappointed. I particularly enjoyed the cured goose, coddled egg... More

What a disappointment! I had the lunch menu and the food is mediocre and with very small portions. Ive eaten plenty of Michelin star food and know that there is often (not always) a balance between quantity and quality but this fulfils neither point. Food is either bland or with certain ingredients being way too strong for the dish, hence... More

My girlfriend and I visited on March 21 to celebrate our 3rd anniversary (although I didn't actually tell the restaurant). She has wanted to go for a while and I was lucky enough to get a table for a Saturday night (although I did book about 2 months ago!). We had a fantastic experience - wonderful food, excellent wine, knowledgeable... More
