I used to eat here over twenty years ago for client lunches and while the food was good, to be honest I was very young & didn't really appreciate the effort that they put in to sourcing the best ingredients. I was lucky to be able to visit twice earlier this year and both times ate simple dishes which had... More

Classic caff with tea for 90p and great ambience. Open from 7 a.m. to 3 .30 p.m during the week. Good full english breakfast and lunch. You almost step into it when coming out of the only tube exit there is at Putney. Pay attention when heading out of town and waiting for the tube at Earls court - you... More

The day before we went to River cafe we went to Murano in Mayfair. The bill in each location was virtually the same, but there is a huge difference in quality between these two places. Don't get me wrong, RC is very very good food, but it is Italian brasserie style compared to fine dining Mayfair chic. Murano is at... More

Please, please, please, will people stop writing incorrect reviews for this great cafe. Unfortunately there are two establishments running under the same name. One is a little cafe near Putney Bridge Station, the other is a very expensive Italian restaurant. If you want to write a review about the little cafe, then you're on the right page but if you... Its opposite Putney Bridge station, and it's NOT THE River Cafe - don't be misled by some Reviews on TA, they've mistaken it. I had a full breakfast, two good americanos, and two toast. £7.50 - in London! Service by the family was good, friendly; poached eggs perfect, great bacon, proper black pudding. It's what I look for in a... More

Still as good as it was during the Gray and Rogers period. I had the pleasure of eating at the River Cafe several times in the 90s and early 2000s and was excited to return in 2014. The food is just as good -- gnocchi to die for, light as a feather loaded with flavor! Don't miss this gem.

Popped in here for a cuppa and quick bite to eat. Very friendly little old fashioned style café, complete with tiled walls and formica table tops. Staff were very friendly, service quick and efficient, food lovely (including freshly cooked omelettes to order) and very reasonably priced. Can't go wrong - will be back! Just be warned they don't have toilets...

A bit far away but worth the trip. Italian food with a constantly changing menu, open kitchen in a greenhouse like setting, white linens and impeccable service. Expensive.
