Combining hundreds of years of the Italian tradition in the art of preparing food with the new style and concepts of the restaurant business, LA PIETRA is welcoming you to enjoy a relaxing evening, an invigorating lunch or a good breakfast to start your day. Whether you are a "foodie" or you are looking for low-calories meals, we offer a big variety of dishes, from which you will have plenty of choices to make your stay in our restaurant perfect. Our chef and his team will delight you with dishes prepared in our traditional wooden oven, served on hot stone plates. All dishes are prepared on-the-spot, nothing is precooked. All vegetables are fresh, not frozen and all sauces are made in-house. Even the pasta and the bread, not to mention the pizza dough, are made in-house, following traditional Italian recipes. We make them using full grain ingredients to give you the best pastries taste you ever had. But no meal is good enough without a tasty wine next to it. LA PIETRA offers an extensive collection of international wine from which you can select the wine of your choice. As the song goes, "A bottle of red, a bottle of white / It all depends upon your appetite / I'll meet you any time you want / In our Italian Restaurant." LA PIETRA also provides a "deli shop" where you can purchase our home-made pasta and bread so that you can take with you and enjoy, at home, the wonderful taste of our pastries. We will be more than happy to have you as one of our patrons and we are absolutely sure you will be coming again. LA PIETRA - The new Italian Style.

Lovely meal but staff rather inattentive. My husband had a fillet steak with mushroom sauce. And that's all he got, no chips or veg just steak. Said it was the best he had eaten but expected some sides. Bit disappointing and it cost £22.95, rather expensive. Don't think anyone has just meat for a meal. Staff diden't greet us properly... Took the downstairs space for 20 people (18th B day celebration , no additional charge for having private space). Area was very pleasant, good temperature, great seats. staff were just fantastic, sorting out drinks and food very efficiently. We never felt we were being ignored or forgotten (which is possible when you have a large bunch of teenagers) Staff great... More

I booked this restaurant for our party of four due to the many great reviews on Tripadvisor. I have eaten in many restaurants in London, but this food rates with the best we have had. Ellena who runs front of house was very pleasant and accommodating and brought up the chef to explain the specials. Alex the chef was outstanding.... More

The ambience is okay, the staff is friendly and the food is okay,... What is really nice, is the wine list,... There are some good choices,... But overall I wasn't very impressed

I've been here more then a dozen times and it's always been tasty food. The service has a smile and they don't mind my last minute booking for tables after long days at work. Starters are delicious, would recommend the beef tartare. Mains includes nice looking Italian food and a good selection of pizzas with specials that feature wild boar... More

Visited here at lunch time and took the lunch deal . Glass of wine with any pasta or pizzar dish. The wine was possibly the worst I have tasted even watering it down it was barely drinkable and I drink any rubbish wine . My wife left hers so I had to drink both. The table that came in after... Visited here on Saturday evening with a friend. Booked last minute with no problems :) staff were lovely - so helpful with wine choices and the restaurant setting was really nice. The food was fab - well presented and tasty. Worth every penny!

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighborhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
