Combining hundreds of years of the Italian tradition in the art of preparing food with the new style and concepts of the restaurant business, LA PIETRA is welcoming you to enjoy a relaxing evening, an invigorating lunch or a good breakfast to start your day. Whether you are a "foodie" or you are looking for low-calories meals, we offer a big variety of dishes, from which you will have plenty of choices to make your stay in our restaurant perfect. Our chef and his team will delight you with dishes prepared in our traditional wooden oven, served on hot stone plates. All dishes are prepared on-the-spot, nothing is precooked. All vegetables are fresh, not frozen and all sauces are made in-house. Even the pasta and the bread, not to mention the pizza dough, are made in-house, following traditional Italian recipes. We make them using full grain ingredients to give you the best pastries taste you ever had. But no meal is good enough without a tasty wine next to it. LA PIETRA offers an extensive collection of international wine from which you can select the wine of your choice. As the song goes, "A bottle of red, a bottle of white / It all depends upon your appetite / I'll meet you any time you want / In our Italian Restaurant." LA PIETRA also provides a "deli shop" where you can purchase our home-made pasta and bread so that you can take with you and enjoy, at home, the wonderful taste of our pastries. We will be more than happy to have you as one of our patrons and we are absolutely sure you will be coming again. LA PIETRA - The new Italian Style.

Hidden pearl!

Me and my girlfriend visited London in November. We arrived late so, we were just looking for a simple restaurant near by the hotel. We ended up eating here every evening. Lovely!

Fantastic Italian food! We happened upon this place while walking through the area and stopped for a snack. The decor is very cool. The pizza was delicious. Drinks were perfect. And our server, Alex, was very helpful and enjoyable. We were thankful to have stopped at such a great restaurant!

In London for a one night stopover. Had seen La Pietra as I walked in the area looking for a nice place to eat. This certainly met my expectations. Great service, great food. Will definitely be back when I return to London.

We have eaten here several times - good, proper Italian food and very pleasant service. Pizzas are good as are the salads and starters. It always seems to be very quiet, which is nice in one way and slightly disconcerting in another. But given how rammed so many places are, with noisy music and chain food, it's good to have... More

I ordered food from here for delivery through deliveroo. The one positive was that it arrived on time. The food, however, was extraordinarily bad. Tasteless, flabby, cold and ridiculously expensive, there wasn't a single item I would have fed to my dog. It all went in the bin. If you fancy wasting your money then by all means order away...if... Most restaurants in London have rude staff and serve disgustingly overpriced food, this place was mildly less horrendous. The food was good, but the overwhelming stench of lavatories lingering throughout the restaurant made it difficult to enjoy the meal. It's hard to chew your way through a pizza whilst choking on toilet duck and urine. The staff were rude, but... More

I have been here more that a couple of times and every single time I was very pleased with their food and their service. You must try their pesto ravioli! Delicious! Also tagliatelle with bacon and zucchine, I don't remember the name in the menu, but it was delicious! Also their starters are very good value and the portions very... More

We had a lovely evening of nice food and attentive service. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming and not too crowded. None of us was blown away by our meals but they were good nonetheless. I would go again but probably order something different from the risotto I had. The steak a la pietra looked fantastic.

Unfortunately our experience in at L a Pietra wasn't positive at all. I am sorry to live a negative comment but I hope that will help to improve them. The waiting staff was really welcoming but the food let us really down. We had two starter one was fine but the mussels weren't as good as they looked like, over... More

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighborhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
