fun viennese style grand cafe

good food, though can get noisy. I had the schnitzel which was up to its usual plate full and very tasty, my wife had fish which was outstanding. We finished it off with a strawberry sorbet and compote which was perfect.

This is a Grand Caffe in Grand Viennese style. Borrowing from the cultures of the 27 ethnic groups that made up the Austro-Hungarian Empire, this splendid restaurant provides delicious food, awesome service, a great wine list and a beautiful, comfortable panelled room that is always busy. We ate here twice in four days during a London visit, and it was... More

I had heard good things about this restaurant so couldn't wait to try it. The location makes it perfect for a pre or post theatre dinner for the Aldwich theatre opposite. As the restaurant is open all day it was possible to book an early table giving plenty of time to have a proper,if rather early, dinner. Let me just mention... More

Visited The Delauny before catching a show for my fathers 60th birthday. From the moment we walked in we was greated by very friendly staff (even thou they ruined my theatre surprise by asking if we was watching a show as my dad had no idea) but none the less the customer service in this place is second to none.... Myself and my sister planned a weekend in London for my mum's 60th birthday. We visited The Delaunay for breakfast on the Sunday before returning home, it truly was a perfect end to a wonderful weekend in the capital. The service was impeccable, food amazing and facilities what you would expect from a 5* place. We all thoroughly enjoyed it... More

My Husband and I visited The Delaunay recently, early evening for a pre theatre dinner. The restaurant itself is beautiful, well presented and clean. We were 10 minutes early but was shown straight to our table by a friendly member of staff and brought water and menu's. I'm vegetarian and found they had a great choice of starters and mains... A busy restaurant with exemplary surroundings and something that appeals to a wide variety of people. The restaurant is loosely based on a Viennese style establishment with French influences. The prevalence of sausage on the menu highlights the Germanic influence. The food was very good and the sausage/wurst options were very reasonably priced for such an establishment. Phillip Schofield was... More

Beautiful cocktails, made perfectly- staff was just awesome, however to be fair we were with friends who eat there often. The food was very good- not extraordinary. I felt there was a severe lack of seasoning in the tartare ( was literally just raw meat- no cornichons, mustard, capers mixed in...) the beet salad I had was under seasoned and... More

Enormous, impressive room. Somewhere to see and be seen in the evenings. Good breakfast and European brasserie menu.
