Very attentive service, good selection of dishes at affordable prices. A really lovely atmosphere with classic brasserie decor.

We arrived just before it got busy at 4.30pm. The decor is central European circa 1920, lots of booths, dark wood, low lighting. The menu is wonderful, it caters for all tastes and budgets. We enjoyed the steak tartare followed by wiener schnitzel, these were the reason for visiting as recommended by a friend, since the portions are so generous... More

Had dined at the sister restaurant(The Wolseley)whilst in London last time we visited. Thought we'd try The Delaunay.Thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife copied my choice and we both had the Beetroot Salmon starter, followed by the Goulash main.We both thought that these were really superb courses, never had beetroot salmon before but will again(perhaps try at home)the Goulash was also superb, meat just... This is a wonderful restaurant right next to the Aldwych theatre serving French/Alsatian/German cuisine in a very pleasant, airy dining room with large people-watching windows. Catering to the theatre-going crowd, service is very friendly and brisk and the food is impeccably prepared. This is a smooth operation.

If you are looking for a place to dine; The Delaunay is the place to go. Wonderful cross-section of dishes from around Europe, with particular attention to German flavors. I had the Chicken Cordon Bleu Schnitzel, well seasoned, and juicy. A very delicious main course. Starters were wonderful as was dessert. I was impressed with the wine list and again... More

It's bistro-like inside and quite noisy. The food was fine, the service was fine but it was nothing special and because of that, I'm not sure I'd bother again.

The Delaunay is another in the Wolesley and Brasserie Zedel stable of eateries and, as a result, the set-up, style, decor and organisation are impeccable. And the food is good too. The theme is central European so think Vienna, Poland, Germany. I was drawn to the pierogi and this starter was as good as I had in childhood from our... More

Nothing more I can say than everything was perfect and the setting was stunning. Price is at the high end of ex-London restaurants but at £70.00 per head including plenty of wine, 3 courses, coffee and the service charge not bad at all for Central London. Very much worth a visit and we will be going again. You will need... More

The delaunay has a lovely atmosphere and has a european feel to it. The menu has enough choices for both vegetarians & meat eaters. Bread is provided with butter. We did not get any starters so i cannot comment on them. I ordered the cordon bleu with fries. My friend orderd the seabass & one ordered the gnocchi from the... More

I had a wonderful dinner here just before Christmas 2013. The atmosphere was relaxed and intimate, yet slightly grand if that doesn't sound odd. They have an attention to detail, which extends to every aspect of the restaurant experience. There is something very romantic about this restaurant, despite its size. Perhaps it's the lush velvets and rich colour schemes, the... More
