Woww!! A GEM OF A PLACE! From the first morsel to the final crumb, each dish delighted and amazed! The food was an explosion of flavours and a perfect combination of fresh ingredients beautifully presented. The service and the staff were also brilliant! Extremely friendly, helpful and attentive and made us feel really comfortable. Truly, this is one of the... More

I remain a big fan of De Palo's. The food is always fresh, tasty and hearty with well-sized portions and reasonably priced food. The atmosphere is always nice and benefits from normal sound levels (i.e. no hubbub or dreadful music being pumped out). It's a good choice for business. One can be in and out inside of 90 mins (with... More

We were well taken care of from the moment we arrived until we left this small, family-run (I'm guessing) restaurant. The decor is simple and comfortable and we thought the food was excellent. We started with mixed antipasti then shared one portion of big pasta tubes with a delicious walnut and rocket sauce, and one of trucioli (like long, thin,... More

Chose this to socialise with colleagues after reading rave reviews here. It's OK, but not quite as great as these reviews led me to believe. Small space, hardly anyone in on a Monday night, which is perhaps not surprising. Very pleasant and efficient service. Crab salad about a tenner didn't taste much of crab. Linguine and clams very tasty but... More

We made a reservation for our first night in London as it was close to our hotel and were not disappointed. Everything was fresh, authentic and delicious. Very pleased, highly recommended.

Nice simple looking restaurant. The food was really delicious, selected from a sensibly small menu. The staff were very efficient and pleasant. There were quite a few city types dining in the restaurant as it was lunch time but they were well behaved :-)

Visited for a birthday meal for two, with complimentary glasses of prosecco on arrival. The service was excellent! The waiters were passionate about the food and explained all the dishes in detail. The menu was small, but you could tell that a lot of thought had gone into each dish. They also have a few daily specials. The food was... More

I found this hidden gem on Tripadvisor and was delighted to see that it met and surpassed all my expectations. The service could not have been better, attentive but not intrusive and the food was delightful. All the dishes had a sense that they had just been done for us and gave a real feel of the true flavours of... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
