Authentic Italian Restaurant

Nice simple looking restaurant. The food was really delicious, selected from a sensibly small menu. The staff were very efficient and pleasant. There were quite a few city types dining in the restaurant as it was lunch time but they were well behaved :-)

Visited for a birthday meal for two, with complimentary glasses of prosecco on arrival. The service was excellent! The waiters were passionate about the food and explained all the dishes in detail. The menu was small, but you could tell that a lot of thought had gone into each dish. They also have a few daily specials. The food was... More

I found this hidden gem on Tripadvisor and was delighted to see that it met and surpassed all my expectations. The service could not have been better, attentive but not intrusive and the food was delightful. All the dishes had a sense that they had just been done for us and gave a real feel of the true flavours of... More

From the very moment you walk in, De Palo's magic begins. Attentive staff who look after you with the perfect balance of professionalism and friendliness. The pasta dishes are fantastic! Truly authentic Italian cuisine. The Italians I know will agree. One reason to visit = the pannacotta with sweet basil and saffron. Heaven! I'm definitely coming back.

We went on a Friday night, it's a lovely intimate restaurant in Brides court near fleet street. The staff were extremely friendly and the small room was intimate yet we had a fair bit of space. The menu is quite short, five or so dishes per course but the quality was extremely high and the food was lovely. A short... More

Found this restaurant by chance and it was a great find. Lovely small, traditional Italian restaurant tucked away behind Fleet Street. Food and wines were reasonable priced and excellent. Staff were friendly and attentive and food was delicious. Will definitely return and leave room for desert next time!

De Palo's was recommended to us by our hotel staff. It was just around the corner but still a little hard to find. It was worth looking for. The decor is simple and fresh and the food was great. The cod dish that I had was exquisit! The only down side was that there seems to have been an issue... More

For the last ten months I have stayed a couple of nights a week just off Fleet Street. Finally I have discovered De Palo's. It's really the sort of place I had been hoping to find for my regular Jonny-no-mates dinner. Better late than never. Slightly out of the way, squeezed between St Bride's church and the main road (Farringdon... More

Excellent Italian restaurant, food well prepared and waitresses attentive without being intrusive. Ambiance and acoustics are good enabling clear conversations even with 8 person table and a busy meal time. Yes I would return.

The food in this family style restaurant is outstanding. The setting is simple and the restaurant is small and is found in an alley off fleet street. I had melt in the mouth gnocci served in a wonderful mushroom sauce. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Strongly recommended.

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
