Worth finding

De Palo's was recommended to us by our hotel staff. It was just around the corner but still a little hard to find. It was worth looking for. The decor is simple and fresh and the food was great. For the last ten months I have stayed a couple of nights a week just off Fleet Street. Finally I have discovered De Palo's. It's really the sort of place I had been hoping to find for my regular Jonny-no-mates dinner. Better late than never. Slightly out of the way, squeezed between St Bride's church and the main road (Farringdon... More

Excellent Italian restaurant, food well prepared and waitresses attentive without being intrusive. Ambiance and acoustics are good enabling clear conversations even with 8 person table and a busy meal time. Yes I would return.

The food in this family style restaurant is outstanding. The setting is simple and the restaurant is small and is found in an alley off fleet street. I had melt in the mouth gnocci served in a wonderful mushroom sauce. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Strongly recommended.

Full marks for food, ambiance, wine selection and atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back. The pasta all tastes so fresh and delicious, with fantastic sauces. Reasonably priced as well!

Just spent at delightful evening at Palo's. Do not be put off if the place is quite empty as I almost was - it's inexplicable! People are missing out. This is proper Italian restaurant, with real (and lovely!) Italians serving true Italian gems. We feasted on delicious food which was far from your typical carbonara etc. The burrata starter was... We found De Palo by chance wandering around the streets of London and, to our good fortune. It is tucked away on a little court off Fleet St. within blocks of St. Paul's. Although it was our intention to eat there, the owner playfully wooed us inside with true Italian charm. The dining area was simple but inviting, adorned with... More

I went with my wife and two kids 11 and 13 , the staff were fantastic. Offered to cook two custom meals for the kids, all the food was brilliant, the service even better. The wine was lovely. Small but brilliant menu, friendly and helpful staff, great service.

I have eaten here a few times as my relatives live close by. We attended a private party here which was lovely. Danny and his team work really hard to please their customers . Fantastic food and service

A very personal and sweet little place. Everyone including the guys in the kitchen speak Italian and service is excellent. It does not look fancy and is down to earth. Prices are fantastic for London. But what is really astonishing is the quality of the food and the explosion in your mouth caused by the fresh ingredients. A must go... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
