great mint sauce

Had a great Sunday Roast and when asked about the alternative mint sauce provided the chef came down himself to explain how I could recreate it at home, how nice.Has to be one of the best Roasts I have had in a long time, I will be thanking my friend who recommended the Dog House to me.

New chefs have taken over here and they really do a great sunday roast, one of the nice things is that is available pretty late too (we had ours at 6pm and still could get everything) I'd like to personally see a few more vegetables on the plate, and a bit more gravy in the pot, but really delicious and... This is not your normal pub grub, the standard were more Michelin star. Three of us ordered different meals and they were all excellent. The steak melted in the mouth and the pork belly was Devine as was my fish. Definitely recommend.

The place hides incredibly tasty dishes behind its short list. Three of us ordered different things and we were all amazed. The price doens't justify the quantity/size (a bit too expensive, 12£ for a relatively small gnocchi dish) but the mixture of tastes within each bite is astonishing. Congrats to the chef. Desserts however explain themselves why main courses are... More

Had disgusting old curled up small salad leaves some of which had insect holes in them! Even a little salad dressing would have helped. All our sandwiches were tasteless.  Asked for salt and pepper and was given them in two small containers for us to pinch out with our fingers. Food could have potentia. Not everyine likes wooden boards instead of... More

Looks like a good pub from the street. Go in and you find that it does pub food to a really high standard. Just a word or warning: if you want to order the banoffee sundae (which I highly recommend), make sure you order a small main course!

My friends & I are locals at The Dog House. On Sunday evening, I went there with my boyfriend and his family and found a very pleasant surprise: the menu has changed! In fact, the management changed again recently and there is a new chef. We all orders different roasts which come with the usual sides. Everything was very tasty... More

Ate Saturday lunch with our two grown up sons. They enjoyed the quirky decor. Ceiling still painted brown. We shared a few starters and a couple of puddings. Pub was practically empty. Hope it does not go under as so many do.

I dine at the The Dog House regularly and not once had I been disappointed with the food here. It always comes fresh and tasty, which adds more spice to the whole experience. My favourite are chips - such a simple thing but hardly ever they seem to taste right!? Well here they do - chunky, soft and not too... More
