Description: The Brigade Bar and Restaurant is setting the London restaurant scene on...
The Brigade Bar and Restaurant is setting the London restaurant scene on fire. Located in the old fire station, built following 1861’s famous Tooley Street Fire and leading to the creation of the first London fire brigades, The Brigade Bar and Restaurant is concerned not just with eating but with bringing people together to build a community enjoying new experiences together. While The Brigade, along with the Beyond Food Foundation, offers catering apprenticeships to the vulnerable, cookery courses, cookery schools for the keen and private dining for the VIP-minded, the centre of this fantastic venue is definitely the bar and restaurant. A sensory experience, guests are met with the aromas of tempting fresh cooking on arrival, the gentle buzz of conversation and attractive, modern surroundings creating a relaxed feel. Combining sophistication and rusticity, The Brigade’s menu focuses on good produce and traditional British cookery, a handful of classics and sharers adding to the mix. Drinks meanwhile are as well thought out as food, with clever cocktails, niche wines and micro-brewery beers making up an intriguing list.

Quick service. Quality food

Took lunch here. The restaurant was busy yet the staff were attentive and friendly. Quickly seated. Drinks came quickly. Food served on time. Had the fish and chips which was excellent. Would certainly come again.

Went here for Christmas lunch with around 40 colleagues so that's pretty challenging for any restaurant. The food was a bit school-like and the service very slow, and though there were a lot of us it was over an hour before we had anything to eat. Drinks service was good (though probably a bit too good given the delay with... More

I went to Brigade the morning after my office Christmas party. Despite the breakfast being small it was great!

What an amazing place! The attention to detail was second to none. The place has a creative décor encompassing the history of an old fire station with the freshness of a buzzing culinary hub. Our waiter was with us from the moment we entered, with a wheelchair, until he saw us out through the door. The food was exquisite, bursting... More

They serve delicious ox tail burgers that they prepare in front of the bar. Very rich taste and the sides (potatoes and a house red sauce) are good "allies" for a mouth- watering result. I would say that it is a bit expensive. Moreover the chef was very friendly to us, he showed us around the kitchen, explained to us... More

I dined with 7 others (& a baby) in one of their private rooms. We had booked for 5.30pm and arrived a little early; there was some confusion between staff as to whether they opened at 5.30pm or 6pm! We returned at about 5.45 and were shown straight to the room - on the ground floor at the front of... More

We only stopped in here for cocktails en route to dinner elsewhere but the servers were lovely and really enthusiastic and they were knowledgeable about cocktails which meant you got the drink you really wanted.

We came here for lunch after we found it on the Taste Card app and we're pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the food. The food is actually a lot more high end than the bistro itself looks - which is great. We had a starter and a main each and could barely move afterwards. Very generous portions and... More

While the general concept is good I am not happy to be ripped off. I have been there twice and been very disappointed. The portions are very small and I dont know where they come up with their prices. 1 scallop cut in half with some jus £11pp.....

A nice but very busy in the evenings for drinks - snacks and nibbles are nice when they eventually arrive, but service is very slow and portion sizes for nibbles are too small for the price. The food is fine, but nothing worth shouting about for the price.
