The bar / restaurant is in a former bank building and has a nice atmosphere of a typical British pub. There is no table service, so you have to order both drink and food at the bar. This is not spelled out anywhere, so we spent fruitless time waiting to be served food until I went up to the bar... More

Decided to head to this pub for a solo dinner on Friday night. It's been many, may years since I was last here and it has had many a manager change but I knew the new managers and was confident of having a pleasurable experience. I wasn't disappointed. With most of the Fuller's pubs you can now book a table... More

Caution: we tried the place lat in the evening after a 5hours train and plane journey. Typically things tend to taste good in such a state. :-) The place will not hide that its speciality is game. The place is full of stuffed animal, still with charm but Petra members should avoid it. The menu will show this orientation immediately,... More

We happened on this restaurant because it was close to our hotel in London and we were looking for a local pub with "Fish and Chips" for dinner. We found the food good, the staff friendly and helpful, the atmosphere quite homey, and the prices fairly good (for London). You can read about the restaurant name on the menu (interesting)... More

Good, quick, service and OK bar food. Nice old fashioned (not faked) pub atmosphere. A bit amusing was that the girl at the bar considered Guiness "a lager"....

The food was good, I had the deep fried fish (whole fishes), and pork loin. The atmosphere is fun as it's a bunch of game, or fake game, strung up.

In London on a city break we left our hotel in Victoria and walked up The Vauxhall Bridge Road en route to The Tate Modern. Passing The Jugged Hare I noticed their "A " board chalk written sign outside the pub advertising this evenings World Cup Final at 20:00. In my head I decided this pretty looking establishment would suit... More

Late lunchtime on a weekday and the bar was quiet. My colleague had a pie which was nicely presented and a beer. I had a salmon quiche which also looked good but as it was really cold it seemed tasteless. It came with a glass of house red. Overall it was satisfactory value and the ladies behind the bar were... Enjoyed a very pleasant meal and a few drinks. My wife left behind her purse by which the Publican tracked her down through her AMEX Card. I was able to claim her purse back early the next morning. Pub is close to the Grange Wellington Hotel.

I use the gallery upstairs from time to time for group events - the staff let you book part or all of the upstairs for no extra charge. Food is good - standard pub fare, but the range of beers and wines is good.
