Barnes' favourite watering hole.Overlooking the famous Barnes village pond, The Sun Inn is a gem of pub serving fresh, tasty pub food, in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere. We also pour a blimmin' great pint of locally brewed real ale and equally tasty Belgian beer. And being near to the banks of Old Father Thames, we're perfectly located for a spot of Pimm's o'clock during the boat race in April.

Nice village pub

Great food, with some excellent deals (2 courses for £10). Very busy at weekends so be sure to book. Recently renovated to a high standard with welcoming staff offering a good service.

went in on sunday specifically for a roast and we were delighted with the meals we got, they were generous and flavourful, I would particularly recommend the cheese cauliflower side. However when we asked for a specific wine to go with our lunch (which we knew was on their wine list) we were told to go to the bar downstairs... More

Sorry to be negative but there is nothing to recommend here. We ordered the humous starter and salmon fishcakes with "potato wedges." Most of the food was barely edible but we were hungry and short of time so we had prepaid and left without saying much. They are closing for refurbishment so perhaps things will improve in the future.

My duaghter and her boyfriend took me and my wife to the pub yesterday - great atmosphere, very busy and nice unusual beer - but the food was decidedly average. the beef on my wifes sunday lunch was as tough as old boots and took some cutting even before eating - i had the chicken dinner which was fine apart... This is a beautiful old pub, with authentic and comfortable decor and furniture. It faces barnes green and pond, and has seating inside and outside, at the front and back. The food has varied over the years, but the place has such a great location and vibe you just have to go there.

Chose this as a convenient place to meet up with an old friend. Setting is good, by the pond watching the swans hold up the traffic! Nice outside area with plenty of seating AND a car park - not easy in Barnes. Food selection was fairly good, but not enough salads and what they did have were a bit pricey.... More

Come here for a Sunday roast or just for pint of amazing Frulli beer. The staff is super friendly, there's lots of room inside as well: in good weather there are tables outside in front of the pub overlooking the pond across the road and there's alos plenty of room inside and onto the backyard. Pets friendly. Come here with... More

Great local pub, cosy in winter, good atmosphere, nice wines, food can vary quite a bit as the menu changes.

This pub has prime position in one of the most affluent suburbs of London with an enviable position near the pond near £2m homes but the quality of service and food couldn't be further removed from the standards one could expect from such a pub. I visited the pub recently and ordered a burger - when it arrived it was... More
