good food at long-time family-run Indian in Hampstead

We stopped over in London on a recent flight from Berlin to have dinner with family members in Hampstead. They chose Paradise, which was just a short walk down the street from their flat. I've been eating here occasionally for the past ten years or so. The food is always consistently good, the Lamb Bhuna in particular is highly recommended. However, I would point out a couple of issues that deserve attention. First, it can get very busy, particularly late on in the evening, so it is important to book if you want to... More

The maitre d' here is wonderful, and takes exceptional steps to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty. Yet no such steps would work if the food were not excellent - and it is. The best top-flight biryani I've ever had, lovely vegetables, delicately spiced chicken - everything about the meal we had was first-class. We'll be back. Highly recommended.

We arrived at a busy Paradise on Saturday evening to be told there were no tables left, the maitre d' took our mobile number and promised to call within the hour when a table came free. On our second outing we were welcomed warmly, given complimentary appetisers and post-meal drinks and the food was astonishingly good. All this, including poppadoms,... More

At least that is what I thought. Another excellent example of paying attention to ones better half and stepping outside of ones comfort zone. Did I forget to mention that on average women have a better understanding on what is good for us. As soon as we walked in the door I knew I was about to experience something very... More

When visiting in Hampstead I always have at least one meal or takeout from Paradise. I've never been disappointed with the food, which is always fresh, tasty, and well prepared. The staff and management are always happy to see me, and contribute to a very welcoming and delicious dining experience. Very reasonably priced, unlike many lesser places on London, you... More

Amazing food, great service and lovely location... We had popadoms, two mains, rice, chips and naan plus drinks all in for £33 and the food was lovely. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and the head man/manager was incredibly attentive with us making sure we were comfortable The food was the highest quality and the ambience was lovely. 5 stars... I came here with my family for my birthday, the staff couldn't have been nicer, they even added fresh strawberries as an embellishment to the birthday cake my mum gave them to present to me :-) The food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced for Hampstead. I would say it's my new favourite Indian restaurant in London. If you... More

We've been going to Paradise for years and always love it. I thought it was time to put down in writing how much we always enjoy our meals there! The food is amazing Indian cuisine and the staff are always super friendly and helpful. Led by a team of two brothers, its family run and you can see they care... More

Fantastic Indian restaurant, always packed with locals. Great selection of classic dishes and restaurant specials. Highly recommended - be sure to try the Professors Special with chicken.
