I was here on March 21, 2014 and had a great time. The food is good, atmosphere fun and while the beer selection is limited, they have some great German beers on tap. I plan to visit again the next time I am in London!

I went here on a date with a guy who lived German beer. They have lots of choice and is a good authentic German bar. The menu was very amusing, atmosphere relaxed but not at all lively (on a Tuesday), so if that's what you're after, phone in advance to check events. Great staff.

Good German beer and food. Good lively crowd on a Thursday night. Definitely worth a look if you are in the mood for German in central London.

What I can i say about this place, from the moment you walk down the steps and into this basement pub you feel happy. The German band dressed in their lederhosen was in full force playing traditional German songs as well as theme songs from films like Rocky! A platter of food costing £55 fed 8 of us easily. The... Sorry, I was expecting more! Got my Stein and Schnitzel. Place lacked atmosphere. Should have at least had some Bavarian background music. it was a Frida which thought would have been a good night. The Schnitzel was OK. Have been in better German Restaurants!.

I am a girl with a great love of german food, its in my soul. Unfortunately you cannot make a reservation here, we were told this on the phone as we were travelling up from Dorset. We decided to take a chance and we arrived there at 7pm. It was very crowded as it was a football night but we... More

Visited last week with friends as a replacement for our annual Dusseldorf trip. The German beer is fine - not quite a Bolkerstrasse brew house, but hey, we're not in Bolkerstrasse. Staff are very nice. Food - sausage, chips and schnitzel. Had far better currywurst from dodgy vendors in Wuppertal. The rest? Fine for soaking up the beer. I'd come... More

I organised a surprise birthday dinner for my husband with his mates (just last night) at Bierschenke – and we all had a great time. The food was delicious, the beer great and the atmosphere fun! The staff were lovely and really accommodating. We’ll definitely be back!! Danke schon!

Had a very happy birthday in Bierschenke. The German beers can be served in traditional Steins if you're feeling thirsty. If your'e hungry then there is a plentiful menu of German fare including wurst and schnitzel. Good atmosphere inside and big screen football for the Bundesliga fanatics. Prost!

Great authentic German food, beer and other drinks. There are different levels with the main area being in the basement, which is accessed through the door to the left as you face the building. This is a very busy spot so would recommend making a reservation. Seems that a lot of business people, especially lawyers drop by here after work.... More
