My partner and I have eaten here several times over the years usually before a film at the Vue next door. And you know what, the food is fine, great value and there's a good choice and the service is OK too. I recommend this unpretentious and straightforward restaurant ...

Had been here previously a few years back but don't remember it being so bad. Head up to the Buffet to be met with a series of uninspiring dreary gloop dishes which all look as bad as each other. As I found out they are so loaded with so much MSG your head may go red and pop. Seems to... More

I have been a regular here since this restaurant opened and had always found the food exceptionally good for a buffet restaurant. My children loved the place too as they could eat as much, or as little, as they want. The good days seem to have gone now and there has been a definite decline in the standard of food.... More

I was doing some shopping nearby when I decided to enjoy the lovely sunny day by staying out longer and having lunch. Not knowing what to choose I opted for the Gourmet Buffet as this would offer me a range of choices. The price was amazing, at £10.50 and there were enough people to warrant that the food was OK.... After finishing my meal from the hot buffet (food was average & plates were cold)- I decided to have some prawn crackers and soy sauce- I poured some of the soy sauce onto my plate and multiple dead flies came out with it- the manager couldn't care less which shows this has perhaps happened more than once! disgusting restaurant, overpriced... We used to be regulars at this place a few years ago before it changed management. In the good old days the food was fresh, the price was £8.50 for the buffet, the staff were great, the place was buzzing with life and atmosphere. And now... it's like a post-apocalyptic shell of a place where prawn crackers go to die.... More

This is the worst named eatery ever. This is as far from gourmet as it is possible to get. The food tastes like reheated Asda value frozen food, left out under a warm light for a number of hours, only touched from time to time to stir the excited bacteria and diseases through the soup to make sure every customer... Had the worse Chinese ever in this place, firstly it was full of idiots who piled their plates so high they were leaving nothing for anyone else and the servers couldn't replenish fast enough, I think the fact they can take a bit and go back has escaped their stupid gluttonous brains. Secondly the food was awful, the rice was... More

They've seriously misused the word "gourmet" - either the owner is delusional or doesn't know English. Any buffet place especially Chinese buffet at that, are far from "gourmet". The food is nasty & stale and the attitude from the staff - especially the Chinese ladies is nastier. Waiting 10-15 minutes for the glass of coke we ordered before we sat... More

Average buffet in terms of quality and options located at the N1 shopping centre, Angel. Right next to Vue cinema, it offers a small variety of expected chinese dishes and curries, evening charge £11. Decent options include an oriental duck dish, crispy aromatic duck and shrimps. 3 veggie options and mediocre spring rolls. I wouldn't avoid it if I was... More
