Drink in the atmosphere at Greenwich's favourite pub.In Greenwich, you'll just want to drink in the historic atmosphere - and you'll want to drink in this grade I listed pub too once you've seen what it has to offer. Feast your eyes on our regularly changing specials and pub food classics, and choose (if you can) from our impressive array of speciality drinks. While The Gipsy Moth itself is a magnificent slice of history, its unique, comfy interiors make it the ultimate modern retreat away from the bustle of nearby tourist spots such as the Cutty Sark and Royal Observatory.

Great atmosphere

Pub is located right next to the Cutty Sark and the ferry dock. Good pub food and priced as most other pubs in London. Friendly atmosphere.

Went there on a busy Sunday afternoon and was told that it's a 15 minute wait. The place was heaving and was further reassured by the guy acting as front of house that the turnover was quick hence my partner and I stayed. A wait of 40 minutes and no table and we were told by the same guy that... More

Well a busy venue very student orientated, slightly over priced for very average service. The toilets where disgusting with water all over the floor. Bar staff very friendly and helpful. Food average and they had run out of most of the stuff by the late afternoon. I won't be going back

We went in for lunch after a visit to the Cutty Sark with the grandchildren. Menus were on the tables, no mention of children's portions, I had to ask and yes they had a choice of two meals. My husband and I had the West Country burger, which was rather pricey, a few french fries and only a piece of... More

We dropped in here for a late Sunday lunch and a couple of drinks. The Gipsy Moth is very conveniently located for the Cutty Sark (I think it's within about 100 meters) which presumably explains why it is always very busy regardless of the time of day. Very pleasant friendly bar & serving staff even though they had obviously been... More

We visited his pub on Friday 13th February. Bought 3 pints of beer, all the same, and they were priced at £5.05 each. What a ridiculous price. Why not just ask for a fiver each. This was expensive for the area. Won't go there again.

I have to say I really enjoyed this place. We stopped in before a concert at the O2 based on a local's recommendation, and sat at a cozy booth in the back next to the window. I got a couple pints of the Reverend James ale after the bartended let me sample a few of their offerings on tap. Americans,... More

Nice place, food looked great. Beer was good and not badly priced for London. However toilets were a right state! Needed some serious TLC in them! Shame they let the place down.

Went for Sunday roast, paid £14.50 for the beef joint. Yorkshire pudding was burnt and dry (which they did replace when we complained), beef was 3 tiny slices, which we were told was their portion size. Potatoes were not roasted properly. My wife ordered the roast pork, which was dry and inedible.

Staying in Greenwich

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich
Greenwich Mean Time starts here, so to speak, as the very concept of global time was established at Royal Observatory, just one of several buildings of architectural interest in Greenwich. Indeed, the whole of Greenwich's historic town center, its Royal Park and a number of related buildings (and one world famous ship, the Cutty Sark) make up the UNESCO World Heritage site known as Maritime Greenwich. Today a laser beam is shot out across the night sky from the Observatory to mark the location of the Prime Meridian. Other bold (some say brash) 21st century additions to the area include landmarks such as The O2 entertainment complex (previously known as the Millennium Dome) and the Air Line cable cars, which offer scenic transport across the Thames between North Greenwich and the Royal Docks.
