Very welcoming staff, to start with, professional and friendly (but not too friendly). The food was excellent, with plenty creative dishes. The atmosphere was very pleasant. The price was at the upper end of the scale, but definitely worth it. Very recommended!

A group of twenty ate in the private room upstairs on a June evening. Food, wine and service excellent, and the host team were very accommodating and made our guests fee very welcome. Highly recommended.

This is a great place in the King's Road. I went there with a business colleague whom I had challenged to find a restaurant of a similar quality to the ones I took. I was not disappointed! The food is very good indeed (I highly recommend the stuffed squid - awesome) and it has an excellent wine list (we were... More

Booked as a short notice Sunday lunch based on its performance on this site, when we turned up the very pleasant room was quiet, with about half the tables occupied, occupied by some of the oldest people ever seen in a restaurant. They were both polite, we were hungry and our request to share 3 fixed menus between two was... More

Service: very well managed by a group of young people. What I appreciate most is that they allowed us to order two set dinners when we came in a group of three (small eaters). Their attentiveness is unbelievable - they replace cups of ice cubes for our cold drinks as and when the cubes are half melted. I didn't realized... More

Delicious food, fantastic staff and great wine. For the quality of the evening, the bill was considerably less than I had expected – looking forward to going back.

Walked here for dinner one evening - booked online first, glad we did as it became fully booked shortly after we arrived. The space is nice, set on Fulham Road, with some tables out front, others inside, there's also a private dining room. Excellent fine dining menu, good choice, wine list good yet no cripplingly expensive - full of what... More

We visited Medlar for my husband's birthday. (4 of us) It wasn't cheap, I'll be honest -but we did have a bottle of Champagne and a bottle of wine. (We chose the house red from Herault-which was excellent). The set menu at £46 for 3 courses had such enticing choices, we had trouble choosing. Every one of us was delighted.... More

The problem with Medlar is the wine list. You go in with the best of intentions but......So really the fact that this has to be one of the best value lunches in London is irrelevant if you enjoy wine. You ain't gonna escape. Especially if - as my guest and I did - you find it so difficult to choose... More

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
