Kua ’Aina in London is Europe’s first of its kind. It is based on the original restaurant on Hawaii’s North Shore which opened in 1975. In Hawaii the restaurant has been serving its famous burgers and succulent chargrilled sandwiches to the locals and visitors alike for over 35 years. It’s also no secret that the delicious burgers are one of President Obama’s favourites when he drops by to his home state. There are now three Kua ‘Aina in Hawaii and, since 1997, more than twenty Kua ‘Aina restaurants have been opened in and around Tokyo. We have brought Kua ‘Aina to Europe through a combination of passion and resolve, having been regulars at Kua ‘Aina in Japan, and because we loved the food so much and we believe that the food and concept merits being brought over to London (and beyond). Our décor honours the original restaurant with its wooden flooring, bamboo roof, tropical ceiling fans and authentic Dick Brewer shaped surfboards, hand-glassed by Jack Reeves, all with a view to creating an inviting, relaxing and escapist atmosphere. Food: Most importantly though, quality fresh produce and our own home-made marinades and seasonings are at the heart of the Kua ‘Aina taste. Serving a varied menu, we look forward you enjoying our unique hand-made fresh burgers; devouring a hearty salad; or savouring a char-grilled sandwich, as well as much more. Our ‘signature’ choices include super succulent 1/2lb burgers, marinated grilled chicken sandwiches, grilled Mahi Maui and Wafu dressed salad. We have some of the best American fluffy pancakes in London and seasonal low-fat frozen yoghurt. The drinks menu will quench your thirst with crisp Asahi Superdry on tap, exclusively imported Kona Brewing Co bottled craftbeers from Hawaii, cocktail pitchers and specially chosen, Molino Loco wines.

Pal Anders is Superman

Ku'aina is an absolute treasure. The food is superb but the service is above and beyond. Even though the restaurant was very busy, we were treated like royalty by the extremely hardworking, attentive and downright lovely Pal Anders. Would recommend and will definitely be back soon!

Great food and good value. Tasty and perfect if you want to take a break for an hour. We were 3 and downstairs but it was buzzy and fun. Recommend a pint of the Kano lager. With whatever you choose to eat......

Stumbled across this wee place when we came out of the back door of Liberty. Burger with bacon was gorgeous. Chips were fantastic. Not a huge portion but I was full after it. My daughter had the American pancakes which she loved. The chap that served us was so lovely. We would definitely go back. We sat outside. But inside... More

We spent day in London and after looking around carnaby street we wanted to eat and found a number of burger bars but decided to check on trip advisor and this place had good reviews. Got there and were served by a lovely man named Paul who was Norwegian (I think). Great service. Really polite and on the ball. Partner... More

Stumbled across Kua'Aina whilst walking around in London looking for a decent burger! I can honestly say that these burgers are pretty darn good! Went for the 1/2lb version with skin on fries and i was not dissapointed! Its no fine dining joint, just good quality food served by friendly staff. We've been back a few times on subsequent visits... More

Pal- Anderf helped us tonight as we dined in Soho. He was so attentive, personable and really made our dinner an enjoyable one. I'm visiting a friend in London, I live in Miami, FL. Although I'm not certain when I'll return, my friend will definitely dine again. She had the avocado burger and sweet potato fries, I had pancakes.. Yum!... More

My husband and I had lovely grilled sandwiches here before a theatre show. Their service was friendly, efficient and faultless. The toasted sandwiches were fantastic and we were offered a choice of breads. We are vegetarian and often have limited choices - but here they had a good selection. All the ingredients tasted really good and fresh (avocado, lettuce etc).... More

We've been meaning to try Kua 'Aina for a while. The food was delicious, to the point a lady at the table next to us asked if she could steal a sweet potato fry.Afterwards, the waiter came over to apologise and offered us a fresh portion, which I thought was very considerate. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. We... More

We entered the restaurant just for a quick bite and decided to have their full breakfast. It was perhaps one of the best breakfast I have had. The Porto bello mushrooms where cooked superbly with thyme and garlic. The other parts of the breakfast were equally scrumptious.

Walked past this place many times but its always busy so never actually went in until Sunday just gone. It was quiet, probably because we got there before midday. Its a tiny little restaurant but you can't miss it!! We chose to sit outside as it was a pleasant day. We were served by Paul. What a nice chap!!! The... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
