Description: Kua ’Aina in London is Europe’s first of its kind. It is based on the original restaurant on Hawaii’s North Shore which opened in 1975. In Hawaii the restaurant has been serving its famous burgers and succulent chargrilled sandwiches to the locals and visitors alike for over 35 years. It’s also no secret that the delicious burgers are one of President Obama’s favourites when he drops by to his home state. There are now three Kua ‘Aina in Hawaii and, since 1997, more than twenty Kua ‘Aina restaurants have been opened in and around Tokyo. We have brought Kua ‘Aina to Europe through a combination of passion and resolve, having been regulars at Kua ‘Aina in Japan, and because we loved the food so much and we believe that the food and concept merits being brought over to London (and beyond). Our décor honours the original restaurant with its wooden flooring, bamboo roof, tropical ceiling fans and authentic Dick Brewer shaped surfboards, hand-glassed by Jack Reeves, all with a view to creating an inviting, relaxing and escapist atmosphere. Food: Most importantly though, quality fresh produce and our own home-made marinades and seasonings are at the heart of the Kua ‘Aina taste. Serving a varied menu, we look forward you enjoying our unique hand-made fresh burgers; devouring a hearty salad; or savouring a char-grilled sandwich, as well as much more. Our ‘signature’ choices include super succulent 1/2lb burgers, marinated grilled chicken sandwiches, grilled Mahi Maui and Wafu dressed salad. We have some of the best American fluffy pancakes in London and seasonal low-fat frozen yoghurt. The drinks menu will quench your thirst with crisp Asahi Superdry on tap, exclusively imported Kona Brewing Co bottled craftbeers from Hawaii, cocktail pitchers and specially chosen, Molino Loco wines.

My friend and I both had classic burgers with sides. The burgers were good but our meal was totally overshadowed by the worst customer service I or my friend had ever experienced. It started when we asked for beers. The waiter snapped very rudely "We don't have any beer!". We had looked at the cocktail pitchers but as at £18.90... More

I had an unbelievable bad experience today at Kua'aina. I ordered a "ahi tuna steak sandwich" WITHOUT onions, I have an intolerance to onions and I'm really sensitive to it. I have ordered this sandwich before and I know it DOES have onions on it. Anyway waitress took the order and my plate and my friend's one arrived (she ordered... More

I love all the store-front places you get round carnaby street. On a recent trip, couldn't ge into where we wanted to go, so on spec went here - and very glad we did. Taking the concept of doing a few things well, and going with it! Great burgers, great sides, all cooked well.

Great spot off Carnaby Street. Quick service and fantastic food. The burgers are delicious. I would recommend also the ahi tuna steak sandwich with avocado with a side of sweet potato fries, absolutely delicious!

Went to Kua 'Aina with some friends in September 2014. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table although it was a Friday night and we hadn't booked, so that was reasonable. Service was good, (though not outstanding) in terms of friendliness, efficiency and speed. The food was well worth waiting for though. I had the pineapple burger,... More

I'd seen this place so many times and always wanted to go in while visiting the nearby MAC store. Tried a burger with cheese. Came with a nice salad and chips. Very good burger and made just right. The bun was a brioche too. What I ate wasn't in my opinion authentic Hawaiian and there were more authentic looking options... More

Quality ingredients, well cooked and for a fair price make this worth of a gourmet burger experience. There are no airs and graces, the place is simple, run efficiently and does the job. Contrary to other reviews, for the nature of the dining experience (i.e. quality fast food) I though the service and atmosphere were entirely appropriate. Not overly fussy,... More

Visited during a brief visit to London for pleasure as opposed to work this time... Stumbled on the place whilst exploring. The burgers and fries were both excellent, everything seemed of good quality and the prices weren't bad either. However, the service detracts from the food, slow and it wouldn't hurt to crack a smile. Hopefully they were just having... More
