Nice enough for a quick bite!

A nice enough cafe in the area. My eggs Benedict with smoked salmon was fine; plenty of salmon and perfectly poached eggs with a small salad, mainly lettuce, on the side. Omelette and chips were also nice. The fresh fruit salad was disappointing for £3.50 as it comprised one apple, one banana and... read more

Having worked in the area for 25 years and knowing all the restaurants in the area. Moreover knowing the previous owners who were fantastic; I went in today to try them out. I ordered a simple bag of chips and I got a measly, cold, uncooked, none of the sauces I requested, bland, salt less chips. Now if this is... More

We were spending a Saturday morning among the maddening crowds on Portobello Market and wanted some hangover-cure food to help us through... Our orders were taken quickly and I had a cappuccino and a bacon panini (my wife had eggs on toast) and it was really tasty and hot (I mean really hot which is unusual for a bacon butty).... More

I was in a fix for something cheap and filling to eat. I was really hungry (but on a budget) and really fancied a burger. The 'house special' was a home made lamb burger, but 1 pound 50 more than the regular burger on the menu. I opted for the cheaper option, but this was a huge mistake. It was... More

I wanted something light and cheap for lunch and this totally fit the bill. I had very good homemade vegetarian soup, and a piece of carrot cake which was about average (which is to say I ate it all!) They have a comfortable seating area in the back and a good selection of standard fare, plus some specialties like Spanish... More

Last Saturday I went with 3 friends to take some coffees and the waiter was not very kind. First he asked, are you going to drink 3 coffees being 4 people? and we said yes, now we just want 3 coffees. And after being seated and having ordered, one woman came and tell us that the table was occupied and... More

This small and what appears to be a family run cafe in Notting Hill is just off the main street with all the shops. It has a deli style counter when you walk in where one can order food to go but also room for seating in the back. The menu isn't exentsive but the food is well prepared and... More
