Elegant restaurant and bar with food and wine to match

We went here in a small group for my husband's birthday. We started with cocktails in the bar which was very atmospheric of times gone by. Came here for lunch, not knowing anything about this place, but was really impressed. Great food, really well presented with great service - efficient and friendly - in an amazing building, full of atmosphere.

We had booked the Gilbert Scott on a very busy London Saturday night, when our usual haunts were full or could only offer tables at 9:30 pm or later. The setting is magnificent alongside the impressive St Pancras hotel and station. The restaurant tables are well spaced and the only music to be heard was a well-played piano so, surprise... More

The ambiance of the restaurant was just perfect, from the beautiful surroundings, professional attentive staff, amazing food and the pianist ensured that our evening was magical. Definitely worth experiencing.

Food was average, coronation chicken sandwich was not to be recommended though. Beautiful setting, visited on a beautifully sunny day. We sat in the outside area which is inside the hall of the spectacular St Pancras Station. The service was poor, the waiters worked hard, but we had to call the manager over to serve us after waiting 20 minutes.... More

Went to The Gilbert Scott for a Sunday lunch and enjoyed it. The restaurant hall has a nice atmosphere if you wish a quiet refined meal. Service was slow but we actually appreciated that, as we were in no hurry, we were enjoying the food and our time there. Service si formal but then it goes with the kind of... More

We had a dinner for five and everything we ate was delicious. Salads had colourful plate appeal and were subtly flavoured. A prawn and rabbit pie, ordered because the combination sounded so unlikely was full of flavour. Vegetables were carefully cooked with brilliant colours and textures. And the desserts yielded chocolate intensity that was well judged. The room with its... More

I will start out with the positive. The food was good. The atmosphere was great. The service was slow and indifferent. My business colleagues and I got off the train from Leeds and stopped in because we heard great things. We were seated by a friendly hostess rather quickly but went downhill from there. Took fifteen minutes or so for... More
