I dined in the Gilbert Scott as a surprise for my 40th birthday. We were with the children aged 8 and 6 who were very well looked after and had a good choice of meals (opted for sausage and mash and pork belly). The food was amazing, service second to none and the Velvet Espresso divine. All in all a... More

Lovely architecture, really beautiful building. Buzzing atmosphere with plenty of staff on hand to assist and take orders. Drinks very much priced at a premium hence special day out! Worth a visit as the afternoon tea looked very good.

A friend booked afternoon tea for me and my mother for my birthday. I usually let somewhere know I am lactose intolerant beforehand but she didn't as no person without that kind of food allergy would think to. When we arrived I asked if they had soy milk for the tea, perfectly happy to swap with my mother those items... More

Ate here with family on a Tuesday evening after a day retail therapy in London - & was pleasantly surprised. Environment - fantastic. The St Pancras building has been amazingly restored & the view of the lit building at night is lovely - get a window table if you can. The bar is lovely, & they offer a bag/coat storage... More

My wife booked a table in the restaurant for dinner we wanted to check out the Midland hotel and The Guilbert Scott especially as I like what Marcus does. The room and bar are gorgeous a lovely place to eat. We are not on the whole complainers and I did not want to dampen my birthday meal from my wife... More

Went out to afternoon tea with my family. We have been to the bar before but only for drinks, usually very nice if a little pricey. Have to say that we were disapointed with tea. It was expensive for half a sandwich each and a few cakes there was also a panna cotta which was decidedly bad, it was like... More

Went to the Gilbert Scott for afternoon tea. It was a very mixed experience: the setting is impressive as the St Pancras hotel is a striking building. However, the Gilbert Scott was a major disappointment. Bear in mind that this is a Marcus Wareing restaurant with prices to match, so standards should be high. The waiting staff were very attentive... More

We had the opportunity to lend the The Lads some vocal encouragement, the lads being Sunderland AFC. We had been invited to attend the match against Arsenal, as I had not been to the Emirates I didn't want to say no. To smooth the waters I offered to stand Mrs MM lunch. I didn't want to drive so we opted... More

The environment of the restaurant is very nice. Very high ceiling, amazing lights, the mirrors and the art on the walls are fantastic. The food was nice, but did not have the wow factor. And I also found it a bit overpriced. As starters my partner got the trout and crab beetroot dish which was nice. I got the tuna... More

Food was excellent, with its own twist of character. Service staff were very attentive and the location had an ambience that was magnificent in very subtle old-world sort of way. An unforgettable pleasure
