The Rennaissance hotel is a beautiful building and the staff at the restaurant were helpful and efficient. But to be charged over £100 per head(including wine and pre dinner drinks)for a meal which ranged from adequate(oysters)to awful(pork chop)is a step too far.12.5% service is whacked on and then,to pour a little salt into the wound,in comes the £2 per head... My rating of The Gilbert Scott has gone up. I returned for lunch with family and a visiting Australian friend. The architecture/atmosphere is excellent. The menu has some interesting modern versions of traditional food: chicken and snail pie was delicious. Excellent service, with well-paced timing: we had a lot to talk about and the meal was not rushed. I will... More

excellent food, and impeccable service. We were invited to go down to the kitchens to meet the chefs and see them working.

Definitely worth going. The food and service is impeccable. Very "new British" cuisine. A reservation is a must, but they have easy online booking or use the St. Pancras's concierge if you are a guest in the hotel.

What a wonderful restaurant! We thought it would be out of our price range but were pleasantly surprised - a la carte came to around £40 each for 3 courses of gorgeous food - and the next night we took advantage of their 'off peak' fixed price menu ( 2 courses for £21 or 3 for £25) and had another... We were staying at a nearby hotel and asked the front desk staff to recommend a restaurant within walking distance. We were able to make reservations for a couple of hours later, but found the restaurant nearly empty on a Sunday at 6:30 p.m. What a lovely facility. The hotel is beautiful and the restaurant even more so. The menu... More

We enjoyed a lovely meal and drinks for a friends birthday here and everything was exceptional. When the rest of our party ordered a starter I was brought a small complimentary soup which is a lovely and thoughtful touch by attentive staff and an extremely talented chef (The sea bass with dahl is phenomenal).

We enjoyed a memorable family lunch here and what a glorious setting it is. From our arrival to departure the service and food were simply outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff had such commendable interpersonal skills. All three courses were delicious and beautifully presented. My scallop starter was perfectly cooked and served with a delicious delicately... More

We went to this restaurant with friends. It's very convenient to meet friends who live out of London on a train line that comes into St Pancras or Kings Cross. Of course the setting is wonderful. The food is first rate. I recommend the plaice on the bone (served, thank goodness, with old fashioned proper fish knife) and Mrs Beaton's... More

I booked to celebrate our wedding anniversary at the main restaurant and made a special note if they could make it more special. We arrived and was greeted to our table which was lovely, the setting was beautiful and very classic which I loved. The service was good throughout but not as amazing as I expected from a place like... More
