Afternoon Tea & Cocktails

My second Afternoon Tea at the Gilbert Scott bar at the St Pancras hotel. Generally, it's well above the average London hotel tea experience. It can't compete with The Ritz or The Dorchester, but it isn't trying to: the tea menu is just £29 each. This provided us with a great selection of teas... read more

we had the two course fixed price lunch and very much enjoyed it. Contrary to other comments we felt very welcome , the waiters and in particular the Sommelier were friendly and helped us to pace our drinks and dinner very well. The food was excellent, very tasty and great quality. For £23 per head and sensible wine prices this... More

I was recommended this spot as I was meeting a friend who needed to be close to the train station. The staff was amazing and while the seating area was smallish it was a Monday so I had no issues. The decor was really cool. I loved the specialty cocktail menu and plan to come back often and work my... More

My wife and I together with our 6 year daughter had an evening meal. Really helpful staff, didn't make a fuss about having our 6 year with us and made her some excellent fish and chips. I had the duck which was cooked to perfection and the chocolate pudding was amazing. The staff could see that our daughter was getting... More

Food quality was excellent, cocktails tasty and packed a punch, waiters were knowledgeable and suitably formal. The building is beautiful, and the dining room and cocktail bar feel very special. Ideal for tourists who want to have an experience of London and for a romantic meal, however great with friends for a special dinner The bill won't be the cheapest... More

We went to the Gilbert Scott because it was my birthday and we were getting married at the St Pancras Hotel 3 days later so it felt like a fitting place to go. On arrival we were 'greeted' by three people at the desk just standing there, one lady looked me up and down as in 'you don't belong here'.... More

Went to this place for lunch today with my wife after visiting the Magna Carta Exhibition across the road at The British Library. The room is light and airy and the staff are friendly and professional with great knowledge of their menu and wines, I had the smoked trout starter which was just lovely and then the most wonderful pork... I visited the venue to try it out before booking the private room for a dinner. Private room was noisy -could hear aircon units outside and traffic from the road. I thought the staff were really attentive and nice cocktails but unfortunately I didn't enjoy the food, it was ok but not as I would have hoped, taking into account... More

I'd read mixed reviews but as we were in the hotel visited as it was convenient. The service was very good and I couldn't fault it. The food was good, but not amazing. The meal for two came to over £200 and we've had far better for less.

We went for Sunday lunch, the atmosphere and food were excellent. The service could not have been better, polite, welcoming and attentive. A DELIGHTFUL EXPERIENCE.
