Great View

Great Views but it does get busy so you need to be early if you want a seat. £15 for standard cocktails but worth it for a pre-dinner drink looking at the London skyline.

The drinks on offer were nothing special and the staff were clearly bored the day we went as they were totally disinterested in dealing efficiently with any customers there at the time and more interested in running around the bar area and door to the kitchen, giggling and generally acting like children with too much time on their hands. Properly... More

This was my first ever visit to the Sky Lounge. Firstly if it's a great view of London with a chilled out atmosphere that you are looking for then this is the place. It really is a stunning location with so many great landmarks on view. It's great for families and friends with a really friendly atmosphere. The real downer... More

We visited the skylounge Friday 10th April with friends who were staying at the Hotel. 6.30 on a gloriously sunny evening so we knew it would be busy. We left the lift on the 12th floor along with about 6 other people. went to the desk to be told the lounge was full and it was " Obe in one... More

A very modern trendy bar with a magnificent view over Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, and much of The City (financial district).

I hate to write a negative review but I feel extremely strongly about our bad experience here, which has played on my mind days after. We came here to celebrate my friends birthday having travelled from Birmingham, coming here was a highlight of our trip. This is what happened: * There were loud unruly children everywhere, ok this isn't ideal... More

I live in London and my favourite cocktail is Vodka Martini. I've been in many cocktail bars in this city looking for my perfect martini and finally found it in Skylounge. Vodka Martini made by Peter, Polish bartender is simply the way I like it: proper amount of Belvedere Vodka, just a touch of vermouth, very dry and super cold,... More

Went to this place for drinks and a few nibbles last week. We went for a 5pm slot which was perfect to see the sunset and enjoy some of the night view. The overall look and feel of the place is fantastic - very relaxed, spacious and comfortable. You can either sit and enjoy beverages at the tables, or walk... More

People go to the Skylounge for convenience if they are staying at the DoubleTree-Tower, and they stay for the view of the city and Tower Bridge. What may chase them away is the noise inside. There doesn't seem to be anything to absorb the sound, so every laugh, exclamation, and phone conversation just bounces off the walls and hits everyone... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
