Great View

Great Views but it does get busy so you need to be early if you want a seat. £15 for standard cocktails but worth it for a pre-dinner drink looking at the London skyline.

I live in London and my favourite cocktail is Vodka Martini. I've been in many cocktail bars in this city looking for my perfect martini and finally found it in Skylounge. Vodka Martini made by Peter, Polish bartender is simply the way I like it: proper amount of Belvedere Vodka, just a touch of vermouth, very dry and super cold,... More

Went to this place for drinks and a few nibbles last week. We went for a 5pm slot which was perfect to see the sunset and enjoy some of the night view. The overall look and feel of the place is fantastic - very relaxed, spacious and comfortable. You can either sit and enjoy beverages at the tables, or walk... More

People go to the Skylounge for convenience if they are staying at the DoubleTree-Tower, and they stay for the view of the city and Tower Bridge. What may chase them away is the noise inside. There doesn't seem to be anything to absorb the sound, so every laugh, exclamation, and phone conversation just bounces off the walls and hits everyone... More

A restaurant with a wonderful view of London, nice for special occasions, as that one when I was there, a birthday. But, more than one plate od meat we ordered was not for all of us (we were 10), only for 4 or 5 persons. Also, arrived cakes different from what we ordered, because, they say, for 10 was finished,... This place had a great inside space and outside space to have drinks and a few nibbles. It has a great view of the city and river and the flat bread combo I got was nice to tie things over.

nice view, good cocktails, overpriced though as all Skylounge. After one-two times, I would find another cocktail bar in the neighborhood, at some point you get bored of the view.

- spectacular views on Tower Bridge since the bar is located on the upper floors of the Doubletree Hilton Tower of London Hotel - nice drinks (we had some wine and 1 margarita)

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
