Wow what a place

We went here after 9pm when no reservation was required, I think it must be one of the coolest bars in town :) Not overly expensive, but the service was pretty poor, it was by no means full, however having sat at our window table for 15 minutes i ended up going to the bar, Worth the view though.

The first time my Husband and I visited the Skylounge was in April for my birthday and I have to say, it wasn't a good impression. That said and after my initial review, I was contacted by Michelle Daniel (Food & Beverage Manager) to consider another visit as her guest to which we agreed. We booked into the hotel and... More

Great little bar with two different terraces. Some good views over the London skyline too. Very relaxed and enjoyable for an early evening drink, though is also open late into the night.

The food was just 'nice' nothing memorable. The staff were incredibly lovely though, which does make a difference. Giving it average as the staff bring it up a level.

I visited here on Thursday 23 April for drinks with friends and I couldn't believe what an amazing place the Skylounge is or that I'd never been here before! The cocktails were a bit expensive granted, however it was well worth it. The DJ was AMAZING and played the best music. My friends and I cancelled our plans to go... More

Stayed at the Doubletree hotel Tower Hill for a long weekend to visit the city. The pubs in the area close around 10PM so we would end our evening each night at the Skylounge. The crowd is upscale but not pretentious. The view is one of the best in London while having a drink. The staff was extremely friendly and... More

We booked a lunch reservation for my mum's 65th birthday. From the time of reservation the staff were quick to respond via email and extremely helpful to all our needs. On arrival we were greeted and welcomed, being made to felt that no request was too much. I cannot praise the staff highly enough, in particlar Francesca and Mercedesz who... More

This place got a lot of dressed up people coming into the hotel who werent staying there, so I guess it's a popular spot. To me, it was a typical night club, looked very sleek, drinks overpriced, music playing louder than I'd like, etc

The drinks on offer were nothing special and the staff were clearly bored the day we went as they were totally disinterested in dealing efficiently with any customers there at the time and more interested in running around the bar area and door to the kitchen, giggling and generally acting like children with too much time on their hands. Properly... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
