Absolutely, charmingly unique, the Bellaria Restaurant and Wine Bar in Londons upmarket Fitzrovia is a must for those tiring of the same old dining experience. From street level, Bellaria is quite simple a pleasant, attractive Italian restaurant with an inviting atmosphere, bright and simple dcor and the best seats of the house undoubtedly by the wide windows where one can watch the world go by. However, a few steps below and guests are transported to a whole other world. Bellarias basement level truly is straight out of an ancient fairytale, its bare stone walls with their arches, nooks and crannies complemented by chandeliers and trickster mirrors, low lighting casting a moody glow. Its the ideal setting for romance and a real surprise to everyone who discovers it. Upmarket and sophisticated, the menu of the Bellaria Restaurant is very much in keeping with its very special ambience, making good use of Italys most coveted produce in well-presented and elegantly creative dishes ranging from pastas and risottos to steaks and fish. Though a number of excellent wines are available, we cant help but be tempted by Bellarias vast and exciting cocktail list.

An enjoyable visit

Used Open Table 50% deal, otherwise would be a little expensive. Good shared starter with cold meats and cheeses; then a salad. The food was tasty and I thought the portion sizes were good, I couldn't finish my papardelle and I suspect it would have been enough for most men of my acquaintance! A meal for two came to £70 even with the Taste Card 50% off food - a couple of glasses of wine each, one starter between two, a main... More

I went to the restaurant with some work colleagues this evening and the overall experience was very average. It took ages to get a drink and we then had to ask for the food menus and share 3 between 6! We had to ask for everything and service was slow. Instead of getting bread while we were waiting for our... More

Warm frendly restaurant. .with great staff. We had the scampi with home made pasta. .the meal was perfect..as we had the flu..nothing was too much trouble.. We had a side dish of green beans also just right.. The house red was fine. The expresso a bit down on creame but still fine. Will be back again. .

I came back to London after a year studying abroad and I wanted to spend a lovely evening with my friends and this Italian restaurant didn' t disappoint me. We ordered a nice bottle of Bardolino which was perfect with king prawns and steak I had. Our friendly waiter recommended us their home-made tiramisu for dessert, and it was really... More

I wouldn't recommend this place. They are trying hard in terms of service but sometimes forget the most obvious things, hence your glass of water will constantly be refilled, but the lemon you asked on the side might be forgotten about. Food is good but nothing special, for that price they could at least have larger portions or orgasmic food.... More

Surprised to see so many glowing reviews when I found this place distinctly average and very overpriced had we been paying full price. Myself and 2 friends went here because we had a tastecard offer. The restaurant is nicely located and wasn't very busy. The starter was ok, nice mozerella with foccacia and tomatoes but nothing special. Staff are quite... More

My friend and I went here on a Friday evening for dinner. They have 50% Off on opentable and with the tastecard. However this is not available on the specials. The ambience in the restaurant is great and the seating downstairs is lovely. I had a gorgeous glass of their house red wine. They bought us complimentary canapés which was... More

We enjoyed a fantastic evening at the Bellaria last night for my husband's birthday. I booked the restaurant purely on menu and reviews - needing somewhere centrally located that could accommodate a party of 21 (all as a surprise for my husband). It was perfect - the food was delicious and the service was fantastic; the staff really looked after... More

Lovely restaurant and staff. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful evening at Bellaria - both the service and the food were very good. The cellar is amazing. We will definitely come back!
