Description: Absolutely, charmingly unique, the Bellaria Restaurant and Wine Bar in Londons upmarket Fitzrovia is a must for those tiring of the same old dining experience. From street level, Bellaria is quite simple a pleasant, attractive Italian restaurant with an inviting atmosphere, bright and simple dcor and the best seats of the house undoubtedly by the wide windows where one can watch the world go by. However, a few steps below and guests are transported to a whole other world. Bellarias basement level truly is straight out of an ancient fairytale, its bare stone walls with their arches, nooks and crannies complemented by chandeliers and trickster mirrors, low lighting casting a moody glow. Its the ideal setting for romance and a real surprise to everyone who discovers it. Upmarket and sophisticated, the menu of the Bellaria Restaurant is very much in keeping with its very special ambience, making good use of Italys most coveted produce in well-presented and elegantly creative dishes ranging from pastas and risottos to steaks and fish. Though a number of excellent wines are available, we cant help but be tempted by Bellarias vast and exciting cocktail list.

I had a meal with a few friends in Bellaria. None of us had ever been there before. Maitre'd has a bizarre sense of humour and made a few of us feel uncomfortable. But that all pales into insignificance when you start eating the food. I ordered black ink ravioli with fish and shellfish filling in a clam sauce, My... More

We visited this restaurant last night after booking through top table. The restaurant is lovely and I recommend requesting a table upstairs. The food and service were very good however I agree with a previous reviewer the loos are outrageous! Bellaria please, please renovate them. They let your restaurant down as you can't help but wonder what the kitchen is... More

I had mixed feelings after visiting Bellaria. On one hand it was very pleasant, the staff were attentive, the food was good and it was pretty good value. On the other, I made the mistake of visiting the toilets and certainly the male ones left a lot to be desired. The amount of mould on the walls was incredible and... More

This little restaurant, tucked away on a corner near the Wigmore Hall, is not particularly exciting from the outside. Because we were using our Tastecard, I had booked in advance. However, we were told that our booking had not been received and it was not until I produced the email confirmation that the manager was willing to believe us! However,... More

Group of 6 friends in their 30's for a catch up over Sunday lunch. Excellent food, brilliant service, very reasonable prices for the area and hands down the best tiramisu you will ever experience. Highly recommended and we will absolutely be back. Excellent work Bellaria!

Came back here after quite some time, welcomed by a lovely waiter and seated upstairs by the window. My husband and I both ordered creamy pea soup with calamari in it, what a nice twist, I wasn't very hungry and was more up for the wine so ordered a cheese platter to nibble on and a glass of Merlot, my... We ate here as part of a family birthday celebration in London. We were made to feel welcome from beginning to end. We had gourmet society card so got 50% off food and as we were a large group was vey good value. Mozzarella and tomato starter, and the lightly fried squid was delicious. The pasta is home made and... More

Superb food. Italian with a little twist - would definitely go again! A touch pricey, but the food is really worth it.

We were looking for a nice reasonable place to eat for a late Birthday brunch! We came a cross Bellaria and the good news was they take Taste Card and a Saturday not many people do and the weekend.
