Absolutely, charmingly unique, the Bellaria Restaurant and Wine Bar in Londons upmarket Fitzrovia is a must for those tiring of the same old dining experience. From street level, Bellaria is quite simple a pleasant, attractive Italian restaurant with an inviting atmosphere, bright and simple dcor and the best seats of the house undoubtedly by the wide windows where one can watch the world go by. However, a few steps below and guests are transported to a whole other world. Bellarias basement level truly is straight out of an ancient fairytale, its bare stone walls with their arches, nooks and crannies complemented by chandeliers and trickster mirrors, low lighting casting a moody glow. Its the ideal setting for romance and a real surprise to everyone who discovers it. Upmarket and sophisticated, the menu of the Bellaria Restaurant is very much in keeping with its very special ambience, making good use of Italys most coveted produce in well-presented and elegantly creative dishes ranging from pastas and risottos to steaks and fish. Though a number of excellent wines are available, we cant help but be tempted by Bellarias vast and exciting cocktail list.

Wonderful Italian food

I was amazed by their filled pasta with cheese and nuts, with a mushroom sauce. The place has a underground floor which unfortunately was being refurbished, but looked magical. They also had a good wine list.

After walking around the area before deciding where to lunch on a delightfully fine day we settled on Bellaria. It was just after 112 noon so we had a choice of seats and outside dining was the order of the day. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table and immediately given iced water but it was a day... Intimate, quiet and very friendly. Beautiful well prepared food served in an environment where it was possible to talk without shouting and augmented by an excellent selection of wines.

We were meeting up with a friend while in London and looking for somewhere to eat. We passed the restaurant earlier in the day and decided to give it a go. Good choice. The food was delicious and the service was attentive but not overpowering. We were under no pressure to eat or leave fast giving us lots of time... More

Visited the restaurant in Great Titchfield Street. The staff were very attentive. The main course, breast of chicken stuffed with gorgonzola etc, was very good but the buttered courgettes were fried which I didn't expect. The starter, a basket of (more) buttered/fried courgettes, calamari and prawns, was excellent but the Tiramisu was disappointing - just cream and sponge. However, it... More

A small group of us secured an outside table without booking. Very sociable and friendly waiters looked after us all evening. Food ok. Smallish portions for main dishes so expect to pay quite a bit if you're hungry. Small selection of specials. Nice version of monkfish on night we were there. Black ink risotto good if somewhat too salty. Nice... More

This restaurant manages to combine an intimate traditional Italian atmosphere with really good food that is not too trapped by traditional Italian dishes. The king prawns were superb, as was the vegetarian mushroom dish. Great choice of wine with good advice from friendly staff.

The service was absolutely impeccable and the wine superb. The food was creatively composed and tasty but hugely overpriced. We went using a discount card though, which made it rather affordable, and therefore had an overall great experience.

Maybe it was our bad lack, but we were not impressed with this restaurant at all... The food was edible at its best, with rather average pasta and bruschetta. Tuna in 'mixed grill' was probably on the wrong side of its 'use by' date. The only positive we noted was rather good £18/bottle house wine. The food was very very... More

I had dinner in this restaurant and was fabolous. The food was wery tasty, the wine ok, pasta homemade and the dessert superb. The service was amazing, they have one girl-manager witch is gorgeus, she is very professional and charming. In the end the bill was ok for what we had, we will return for sure.
