The newly refurbished Fox and Grapes has the intimacy and feel of a local country village pub. Situated in the heart of the Common, it has the advantage of being on the doorstep of London, yet the tranquility of Wimbledon Village. The Fox and Grapes re-opened in 2011 with Claude Bosi, head chef of the two Michelin starred Hibiscus in Mayfair, and his brother Cedric at the helm. They built up the pub's reputation rapidly, and established the Fox & Grapes as one of Wimbledon's Hidden Gem's. Now Managed by Joe Hendriks & Head Chef Andrew Jones, both Norfolk boys have continued to strive for excellence in both food and service, while maintaining a relaxed pub character. As for the food, the Fox & Grapes sources as much seasonal and local produce as possible, with simple, well executed cooking. The menu features refined dishes with classic flavour combinations, as well as traditional pub favourites. Open for drinks throughout the day, the Fox and Grapes stocks a wide selection of Craft Beers, Ales & Largers. They can also boast an impressive wine selection, solely being supplied by Berry Brothers & Rudd. The Fox & Grapes is also host to three en-suite Double Bedrooms. Disappointingly average

Good spot, parked outside. Interior pleasant, menu inviting, food well presented but tasted very average

I used to really like it here and now I feel like the management think they own the street. They have massive skip bins outside that stink. The other day there was an old kitchen grill on the road too. There is grease on the road and by the doors where they store rubbish and it's getting worse. Next the... More

So great... fire burning, dogs coming over for a pat and to stick their noses in all your warm bits while eye-balling your food. Real homey feel. Although there were kids they were well behaved and you really don't notice them. Food was good. Always a good sized plate. Thank you!

Menu was very good - presentation of some of the dishes was exceptional. The chips were amazing as was some of the traditional dishes. Service was exemplary and the mix of patrons helped to create a good evening out

Vegetarians, beware. The Fox & Grapes website confidently states vegetarian options are available. However, their current veggie main, Rarebit Macaroni (April 2015) contains fish sauce. When I raised this, I was told "Some vegetarians eat fish". People do use the term vegetarian incorrectly, but I expect a smart restaurant to get it right. The Trade Description definition is very clear!... More

Dear Manda P, We are terribly sorry that your experience felt marred in light of your feedback. We have taken the correct steps to re-educate the staff in what "Vegetarian" means and hope there is no further confusion. I would however like to say that the dish you refer too not only has not been on the menu since March... More

Booked the Fox and Grapes for dinner on Saturday night. When we first arrived we were allocated a nice table for 4 which we were about to sit at when another group of four were allocated a table. We were given a table in the middle of the room where a constant flow of cold air hit my neck. We... More

This used to be a lovely PUB many years ago, but now is trying to be a fine dining restaurant. Such a shame! The food is overpriced, the choices are limited and while the quality is good it really does not make amends. The staff were ok, but there was no warm welcome and little things like cutlery were overlooked.... More

We hare been here a number of times and always enjoyed our meal and evening. This time it was a total disappointment . We were no seated in the normal restaurant., but seated in the bar, which was fine. My husbands meal was a disappointment. He started with prawn cocktail, which was okay. His main meal was macaroni rarebit. It... More

Twice I have been here and both times I have been disappointed, so I will not be going back. My first issue with this place are the high prices - the food is good but certainly not to such a standard that warrants them charging £15 for a burger. Similarly, their steak special for £21 was gristly and tough. There... More
