Description: The newly refurbished Fox and Grapes has the intimacy and feel of a local country village pub. Situated in the heart of the Common, it has the advantage of being on the doorstep of London, yet the tranquility of Wimbledon Village. The Fox and Grapes re-opened in 2011 with Claude Bosi, head chef of the two Michelin starred Hibiscus in Mayfair, and his brother Cedric at the helm. They built up the pub's reputation rapidly, and established the Fox & Grapes as one of Wimbledon's Hidden Gem's. Now Managed by Joe Hendriks & Head Chef Andrew Jones, both Norfolk boys have continued to strive for excellence in both food and service, while maintaining a relaxed pub character. As for the food, the Fox & Grapes sources as much seasonal and local produce as possible, with simple, well executed cooking. The menu features refined dishes with classic flavour combinations, as well as traditional pub favourites. Open for drinks throughout the day, the Fox and Grapes stocks a wide selection of Craft Beers, Ales & Largers. They can also boast an impressive wine selection, solely being supplied by Berry Brothers & Rudd. The Fox & Grapes is also host to three en-suite Double Bedrooms. With the perfect location, and steeped in character, you can enjoy everything this pub has to offer.

Went here as a treat with a friend last week and we were not disappointed. We had the Porterhouse steak to share and it was as tender and succulent as expected. The chips were cooked to perfection and the salad dressing subtle but tasty. Desserts were also fantastic - my friend had the creme caramel and I was persuaded to... More

We had a lovely evening here served by our truly excellent waitress Florentina. The menu is not vast (thank goodness) - I often feel that restaurants with a manageable menu list show self confidence in their food and this is definitlely the case and justifiable here. We loved it and starters, mains and puddings/cheese were all top quality. Definitely we... More

Happened to be in the area and stumbled across the Fox and Grapes, the last time I was there was in the 90's so was pleasantly surprised by the changes - what a great improvement. I was intrigued by the Freedom Lager (which the barperson described as an organic craft lager) as not tried this before and as a 'Bitter... More

This used to be THE best boozer in Wimbledon. A proper rugby pub hidden away on the side of Wimbledon common with a fine selection of real ales, a fantastic wine cellar and the best pub grub I've ever tasted! Alas just over three years back the owner of Hibiscus bought the place and its been downhill ever since. They... More

The pork crackling was an excellent starter. The veal for the main course was even better... Very well cooked (medium rare) and it brought out the taste of the meat very well!! The ale was excellent ... fresh and full bodied..... Definitely a return trip is a must when we visit London again...

A lovely setting away from the main streets, this gastro pub is in a quiet location off Wimbledon Common. Had no problems with service with friendly staff - Ordered a potted pork Terrine starter and then a bavette steak. Both were of typical gastropub standards. I wouldn't be fooed by the Michellin star chef the website claims, but nice and... More

Great gastropub with a really different menu. Of course, there are all the classics on offer - a great burger, steaks & super fish & chips - but also some more interesting offerings which you would expect to find in a fine dining restaurant. All beautifully presented and served.

My husband and I stopped in for an early lunch on a Friday. The restaurant is very spacious and airy, giving it a lovely atmosphere in the summer. The staff were very attentive and helpful from the time we arrived until we left and the food was very tasty although a little on the more pricey side. I would definitely... More

What a great place this is. Having spent the day at the Tennis Championships we walked to the Fox and Grapes (approx 25 mins) where we had reserved a table for dinner, plus bed and breakfast. The busy restaurant had a great atmosphere, good food and wines. Our room was delightful with a small and very private terrace. Lovely touches... More

We visited on a very hot Sunday for a well deserved beverage after a walk around Wimbledon Common. The pub is beautiful, open plan with a lovely atmosphere. We sat at the bar for a drink and some bar snacks (potted pork and whitebait) which were very tasty. The staff were extremely friendly, hospitable and professional and the Sunday lunches... More
