Description: The newly refurbished Fox and Grapes has the intimacy and feel of a local country village pub. Situated in the heart of the Common, it has the advantage of being on the doorstep of London, yet the tranquility of Wimbledon Village. The Fox and Grapes re-opened in 2011 with Claude Bosi, head chef of the two Michelin starred Hibiscus in Mayfair, and his brother Cedric at the helm. They built up the pub's reputation rapidly, and established the Fox & Grapes as one of Wimbledon's Hidden Gem's. Now Managed by Joe Hendriks & Head Chef Andrew Jones, both Norfolk boys have continued to strive for excellence in both food and service, while maintaining a relaxed pub character. As for the food, the Fox & Grapes sources as much seasonal and local produce as possible, with simple, well executed cooking. The menu features refined dishes with classic flavour combinations, as well as traditional pub favourites. Open for drinks throughout the day, the Fox and Grapes stocks a wide selection of Craft Beers, Ales & Largers. They can also boast an impressive wine selection, solely being supplied by Berry Brothers & Rudd. The Fox & Grapes is also host to three en-suite Double Bedrooms. With the perfect location, and steeped in character, you can enjoy everything this pub has to offer.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2014 NEW

Visited for lunch on Christmas Eve, 2 adults and 2 teen/pre-teens, one small dog. Menu is small but interesting. Not cheap but fairly priced for the quality of food. Booking is essential at busy times. We had mussels in cider, haddock and chips and pheasant, ham hock, leak and mushroom pie. All were very good. Service was friendly and efficient... More

We went on a Sunday night for dinner close to Christmas and we had a great evening. As always the food was lovely and the staff were friendly and attentive. There was a lot to chose from and all of our food from starters to pudding was very good (my wife loved the salmon starter and my ribeye steak was... More

i can see the market they are going for here, super rich wimbledon folks who don't mind that everything seems to cost about 25% more than it should do. and seemingly it works as it was pretty full when we visited. the food (steak) was good except overcooked too hard chips, ambience was good, staff were great and very welcoming....just... We went here as a group of 10 for a Christmas lunch and we weren't disappointed. The communication from the reservation team was great from the outset and they were friendly and welcoming on arrival. A nice selection if beers on the pump and a good wine list to boot. As a group we were happy to see a nice... More

Lovely dining room, great Sunday roast and good service. Much better than some of the other pub/restaurants near the common. not particularly cheap but not a problem as the food really was to a high standard. Would definitely recommend.

Tasked with organising a Christmas drinks party for a larger group I contacted the Fox and Grapes who couldnt have been more helpful. They guided us through the planning, setting aside the lower bar for all of us, and were wonderfully attentive yet unobtrussive on the night. Glasses were kept charged, and a steady stream of plates came from the... More

We decided to try once again the Fox and Grapes for lunch. We arrived at 12.30 on a Sunday and only a couple of tables were taken. We had booked in advance for four people. We were left standing in the middle of the restaurant with no acknowledgement from anyone that we were even there. Eventually we were shown to... More

Went there occassionally a few years back but always found it expensive and the service average. These days the new staff are enthusiastic and the service is excellent. The kitchen looks a lot cleaner, the food is less expensive though the wines are all over £20. A good range of a lot better than the average pub food together with... More

Our first visit and we were impressed with the atmosphere and the very friendly staff. The menu was interesting and the food was really very good - home made black pudding was soft and not greasy, confit pork jowl was succulent with tasty peppers. Fillet steak was the tastiest we have eaten in a long time, pheasant and ham hock... More
