I know that Ottollenghi is the God of grub here in London. I use the cookbooks, I've used the catering service, I've eaten at the other restaurants. It's not like I am not a fan or anything. I am. But (did you know there was a but coming?) I wouldn't make an effort to return to Nopi, which is in... More

Visited London several months ago, and the meal at Nopi was such a highlight I decided to go back when I returned to London this week. Very glad I did. From well made drinks to an interesting wine list to perfect main courses and great desert, Nopi came through.

NOPI has been on our 'to try' list since it opened. The reason it has taken us so long to get here is not hard to grasp. If you feel like a hearty meal (and I usually do) and/or one which won't inflict too much damage on your bank account you would probably not choose to eat here. Having again... More

I’ve enjoyed Yottam Ottolenghis recipes for a while, so we had been waiting for an opportunity to visit his restaurant in London. When I read about Nopi – with its more formal upstairs dining, I thought it was an ideal venue to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The dining room is very white and bright, with lots of brass fittings on... More

This modern restaurant with its white and gold interiors and a comforting laid back feel. This place serves breakfast late which is a good thing. The menu is not too big but variable and interesting. Food was delicious with a Mediterranean influence. However, service was not the best, they some seemed new to the place and distracted and some seemed... More

My wife and I had dinner at Nopi to celebrate her birthday. As fans of Ottelenghi's TV shows, we were visiting for interesting and unusual flavours; however, we left rather disappointed. We began with cocktails (which I found lacking in punch) and a bar nibble, jicama and salsa. The jicama, which the waitress described as a Mexican turnip, was served... More

I had heard good things so had high expectations! Tasteful setting, classy service with eloquent staff who showed passion for the food. Unique menu....food and drinks! Different combination of taste sensations....and for those of you like me who appreciate a creative loo - it worth a visit too!

I am a devoted fan to Ottolenghi's cookbooks and wonderful stories that accompany the food. On a visit to London, I was able to secure a last minute table from a very engaging host to lunch with three. The food was very tasty with unique seasonings and textures, but not as flavorful, spicy, robust as the cookbook recipes (which I... More

My friends and I had lunch at Nopi Downstairs recently as I am a big fan of Ottolenghi. We were told that 2-3 small plates would be enough so each had two plates. The courgette fritters were delicious as were the butternut squash with chickpeas! Quite pricey but was nice to enjoy something a bit different.

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
