Always a great time and food

Best italian food in London hands down. All of the pasta is made in house and the staff is really friendly. We sat upstairs but they have a downstairs as well where you can have a bigger table. My wife and I have been a few times now and it never disappoints.

A reasonably quick lunch for 2 was what we wanted and that's exactly what we got - with the added bonus of good quality Italian food in what seemed like an authentic setting, served by waiting staff that were prompt and efficient. Probably 20 or so covers on the ground floor. Rivington Street is in the heart of the now... More

It's hard to find an Italian restaurant that doesn't do the run of the mill menu of pizza and pasta with all the basic toppings it thinks customers expect, this place is miles away from that. The chefs make their own pasta and the menu is rewritten daily. Absolutely delicious food, speedy service and the staff were really friendly. Really... More

My husband and I dined here on Saturday 13 June. How wonderful it was to find an authentic independent Italian restaurant in Shoreditch. It made a refreshing change from all these "pulled pork, American BBQ" places that seem to be everywhere. The place is small and cosy (very romantic), so its important to book. Service was with a smile, the... More

Shoreditch is local to me, so you will sense this is why I go out a lot around these parts. The convenience of hitting up a bar or restaurant after work and not having a major trek to go home, is very appealing. On one of my few lunch time ventures out of the office, a colleague recommended Bottega Prelibato.... More

The food at Bottega Prelibato is better than any Italian restaurant I've been to including the ones in Italy. For my starter I had courgette flowers filled with a lemon flavoured soft cheese and which had been gently fried. It was delicious. For mains I went for the black spaghetti with sea-scollops and crabmeat in a tomato sauce. The pasta... More

We went to this restaurant recently for a business dinner of over 10 people and has a wonderful time. We were in the private room downstairs which has a lovely intimate and informal decor which put everyone at ease. Service was efficient and the wines excellent (and reasonably priced). I highly recommend the mushroom and truffle oil pappardelle which was... More

We had a table confirmed for 6.45 but when we arrived at 6.35 we were told that the restaurant would only open at 7. We decided to go somewhere else, not wanting to wait for half an hour. We told the staff and also suggested they may want to make sure they do not confirm bookings outside of the restaurant's... More

My fiance and I live in the area and have been looking for a good Italian. We haven't been disappointed. It's a bit more pricey than your local but it's also a lot more interesting and flavoursome! For two the bill came up to a bit over £60 with a shared starter, two large glasses of wine, two mains and... More

Staying in Shoreditch

Neighborhood Profile
Shoreditch
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighborhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbor can result in fascinating outcomes.
