Better than in Italy!

We went to this restaurant recently for a business dinner of over 10 people and has a wonderful time. We were in the private room downstairs which has a lovely intimate and informal decor which put everyone at ease. Service was efficient and the wines excellent (and reasonably priced). I highly recommend the mushroom and truffle oil pappardelle which was... More

We had a table confirmed for 6.45 but when we arrived at 6.35 we were told that the restaurant would only open at 7. We decided to go somewhere else, not wanting to wait for half an hour. We told the staff and also suggested they may want to make sure they do not confirm bookings outside of the restaurant's... More

My fiance and I live in the area and have been looking for a good Italian. We haven't been disappointed. It's a bit more pricey than your local but it's also a lot more interesting and flavoursome! For two the bill came up to a bit over £60 with a shared starter, two large glasses of wine, two mains and... More

Visited here a few Saturdays ago, it was very pleasant. There are no menus, just marked up blackboards that the waiters talk you through. We shared a starter which was a kinf of deep fried cheese. It was perhaps a bit overpriced for what it was, but then we were given extra bread without hesitation. The pasta mian courses were... More

My boyfriend and I were really excited about eating here, having walked past it on several occasions. My bf had booked a table for dinner a couple weekends ago, and we arrived on time to see our table wasn't available. we were not too bothered about this and were happy to wait a couple of minutes. However, 15 minutes later,... More

Bottega was recommended to me by a friend who is London foodie. Boy, was she right about this spot. It is tiny. Make a reservation and forget about it during the busy times. The menu changes daily. They bring out choices on a chalkboard --creative menu with whatever is freshly available and in season on the day you visit. The... More

Visited the restaurant last year and it was a real pleasure. The food and the service were great. Best Italian restaurant I have visited in years and one of the best meals I had in an restaurant lately - the pumpkin gnocchis were absolutely amazing and the wine recommendation for the dish was spot on. The atmosphere was perfect -... More

Staying in Shoreditch

Neighborhood Profile
Shoreditch
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighborhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbor can result in fascinating outcomes.
