Description: London's most authentic Mexican taquería. The same tastes, ingredients...
London's most authentic Mexican taquería. The same tastes, ingredients, flavors and smells found in Mexico City. As one of the most popular restaurants providing authentic Mexico City cuisine in London, the chefs at Lupita pride themselves on the authenticity of their dishes. Choosing to use only fresh, flavoursome ingredients to create exciting and tastebud tingling dishes, the menus at Lupita are a true reflection of the incredible flavours, colours and smells found throughout Mexico. In September 2012, Zagat, the worldwide ratings and reviews website for restaurants, released their London 2012 survey results announcing that Lupita had made the top five Mexican restaurants in the city.Enjoy a wide range of dishes from tacos, tostadas, quesadillas and enchiladas to salads, soups and totopos (traditional homemade tortilla chips) before washing it all down with one of Lupita’s much loved margaritas (made with 100% agave tequila). The team at Lupita are also proud to offer diners the opportunity to taste some of Mexico’s hard-to-find beers including Pacifico, Modelo Especial and Negra Modelo as well as a variety of Mexican, South American and Spanish wines.

The Food Saved the Day

Our friend took us along to Lupita because she knew we were fans of Mexican food and she was a regular there. She lived in Mexico for a number of years and on her return to London, she found that this place was the closest she could get to 'real' Mexican food. It was lovely, fresh guacamole made in... read more

My friends and I split a pitcher of the Mezcal margarita (awesome), and the Chicharrón de Queso, which comes with fresh guacamole. The tacos are prepared fresh, and were delicious, and from where we sat, we could see the chefs making the food. Service is friendly for the most part; we loved our server, who kept checking on us and... More

A charming Mexican restaurant with a good range of the usual mexican dishes. The Guacamole prepared at the table was the highlight. Inexpensive and very tasty, and the service was welcoming and excellent.

Very high quality, tasty and authentic Mexican food. Great and fast service. I loved their burritos. The Margaritas were great, and so were the desserts. I highly recommend the Flan and the Churros with chocolate.

Very similar to Wahaca, but a bit pricier, with a bit less choice. They make the guacamole fresh at your table which is a nice touch, but the restaurant is small and crowded. The food is pretty good, but personally would choose Wahaca (and this comes from somebody who actively avoids chains)

We booked a table here for a get together and were not disappointed. Being from the States, I've had a difficult time finding authentic, good Mexican food in the UK. Lupita is authentic! They made the guacamole at the table and the tortilla chips were homemade. I hade the chicken enchiladas with the green sauce. Portion size was good as... More

I'm mexican and usually mexican food in other countries other than Mexico is bad, but not in Lupita. Really authentic flavours and great variety of dishes. Service was great, location, food, the staff was friendly, Elenita is the best.

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
