It's the kind of place you might easily walk past and never think of going inside, but boy would you miss out. The food here is top-notch Indian. Not your fancy fine dining Indian cuisine that is all the rage but your standard curry house fare done extremely well. The meal we had was superb, starting with some poppadoms and... More

Stayed nearby premier Inn and thought I would give this place a go after reading reviews. From the outside the dodgy signage and name aren't that appealing and website boasts just good ole Indian fayre. It did everything it said, great food with free samosa taster plus it was one of cheapest I have had in London. Went in earlier... More

Not your run of the mill Indian restaurant, has been in the City for many, many years and always serves up great food at a very fair price.

Was staying in London for a couple of days and came across this restaurant by chance and decided to give it a try and I'm so pleased I did. The food is excellent, the service great and it will not cost you a fortune. Don't expect modern décor or fusion food or other novelties but you will get an authentic... More

Face it - when a restaurant is full of midddle aged men you know the food will be good. This is a hidden City gem - not really for celebrations or families jsut blokes wanting a great curry, good value and unobtrusive service.

Authentic, tasty, fresh, great service and great value. No doubts about it, the best (north) Indian dishes (I am Indian). I have been eating here for about 10 years now, and the quality has been consistent. There have been regular patrons of over 3 decades I have met there. What a shame they don't do deliveries. The veg biryani is... More

I have been to this restaurant several times, both for lunch with colleagues from work and with friends after work. I have always received a warm welcome and very tasty, authentic and not too expensive food. As well as being the oldest curry houses in London, they are also one of the tastiest!

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighborhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
