Decor may look tired to some but the food is good and the staff very welcoming and great value for money as well. Well worth a try if in your in the Aldgate area, just don't be put off by the looks.

Have eaten here several times over the years and for a straightforward no frills curry this is a place to consider. The food is very reasonably priced and very tasty. They serve all the classic dishes (with a few specials which I can't remember ever having changed). A great option for a quick, inexpensive curry fix. And there are good... More

Generally Indian food is catered for the travellers, but if you want real home like Indian food get yourself over to Halal Restaurant. I always say I don't mind the price so long as the food is great and here you get the best food at a very good price. The staff and owners are so friendly, pleasant and welcoming... More

Being Malaysian, I try to find Halal food. I stumbled across this place while strolling down London on a business trip. I was intrigued and went in. I was very happy I did. Both food and service is amazing.

This purports go be the oldest Indian in London. If that's the case then it has survived on giving the customer what they want, good food and service at, for Central. London is a good price. As this place is near my work I have been repeatedly over 20 years and the place has always delivered. The only slight draw... More

After treating my boyfriend to a spa day at a nearby hotel. I was keen on finding somewhere close to eat, so literally Googled local food places and this restaurant came up. The favorable reviews were good so we went. It literally is a little restaurant with a family feel. We went at lunch and it was overrun by men... More

I'm really torn between a 3&4 star for this little place. The food is pretty good, rice and nan were lovely and the sauces were good also. Being critical the decor is really in need of modernisation. Service was very good and friendly. I wouldn't make a trip especially to visit but if you're nearby and want fairly basic surroundings... More

The food was great, and fresh, the portion was more than enough for one person, i had to take the rest as take away. The decoration is a bot old, but fine, place had another table than me, but by night it had more people, although it is in a very small corner.

I've been a few times to this reliable little gem. Hidden away but its worth the search. Possibly the best poppadum a ever and a free samosa to boot. Mains are simple but very freshly prepared and ample in size. Rice portions are large and nan came cooked 'well done' like I requested. Great value for London and waiters are... More
