Thoughtful Service

We ate twice at Geales while we were in London. During our first visit, we were delighted when the waiter presented us with a 'name' glass, after my husband commented favourably about the beer. Service like that can't be taught!

This restaurant has had a new lease of life now they have their new chef and menu. The chef makes the effort to check in on the tables which is always a great touch and it is a very intimate setting. Fantastic menu, pizzas to die for and the prawn starter is a must. As a local, I will be... More

Nothing can describe the experience we had this evening at Geales. A friend recommended it but when we got there literally nothing worked. Several plates on the menus were missing. They forgot one of our starters. The pasta ai frutti di mare was sandy and over cooked. Most deserts where unavailable of course. When it came to the bill the... More

Went there with my family. The fish and chips were excellent, the mixed salad was not good, to soggy. The manager Rufus was a perfect gentleman, very attentive. I would highly recommend this place.

Great find entirely by chance. Off from the busy main road a real local eatery that delivers good food without fuss. Rufus is clearly passionate about what he does and supervises events in an appropriate manner. For us he chose an off menu carafe of wine which was excellent and unprompted delivered some great pizza style bread to accompany out... More

Wherever Rufus goes, the service is incomparable, the food excellent and the atmosphere full of life. Ate there 5 hours ago and still full and content with the lingering taste of tiramisu happily tantalising my taste buds

The food was on point. The tempura prawns were crispy and still held the flavour, the fish and chips were the nicest I've had in London, reminds me of my local fish and chip restaurant by the coast. Good atmosphere.

Geale's has been a reliable fish restaurant for many years but with Rufus now at the helm, it's a fish restaurant you need to try again. Great selection, delicious food, and a staff that cares. The three of us had a great meal focused on the specials and exploiting the restaurant's willingness to be flexible about what we wanted and... More

After dodging the crowds and fighting for basic attention at other venues it was wonderfully rewarding to experience a visit and to dine at Geales. The food was truly marvelous and inventive, but more importantly - at least to me - was the warm and attentive service given by the proprietor and his staff. A lovely oasis that I would... More

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
