The Terrace Restaurant, Amba Hotel Charing Cross

A friend of mine and I ate in The Terrace Restaurant in the Amba Hotel on Friday evening (10/04/15), and had a very good meal in pleasant surroundings. The service was good, and not overly attentive. The menu was varied, offering a good choice. The bill was also a pleasant surprise at around £35... read more

My friend and I had afternoon tea at the Terrace. A birthday treat for my friend. From the moment we went inside the front door to the hotel, we were made to feel very welcome. As requested, we had a table by the window. The afternoon tea was amazing, delicious sandwiches, cakes and scones. Everything about our visit to the... More

Our party of six returned to this wonderful restaurant after a gap of six months.. Yet again nothing at all could be faulted and on the contrary our Afternoon Tea was magnificent. The quality of the sandwiches, the scones (my particular favourite) and the cakes was first class. To complete the experience, the service from our delightful waitress (Tressy?) was... More

I spent my Easter Sunday having afternoon tea with a friend at the Terrace and had a wonderful experience! The food was just amazing! The restaurant itself is a really lovely place and I especially enjoyed the view on this sunny day! But what makes this place really outstanding is the staff! A special thanks goes to Rica who has... I recently visited with a family member for afternoon tea and had a brilliant time. The staff were friendly and the service was excellent (until it came to getting the bill), the views were beautiful and the area of the restaurant we ate in was lovely - so light and airy. The white tea with pear & ginger is highly... More

I took my parents and brother for the Mothers Day afternoon tea and not only was the sandwiches, scones and tea delicious, the staff were attentive, polite and made the day special, giving my mum a rose as an added extra. Would definitely recommend.

I took my mum for afternoon tea on Mothers' Day and had a brilliant time. The staff were very attentive and my mum was even given a free rose. The pot of tea was huge, the sandwiches substantial and the scones delicious. The cakes were rich and tasty too. The only thing to improve was the consistency of the jam... More

Had a business lunch here and it was fabulous! On arrival, the staff in the main reception area were very friendly and pleasant and directed me to the restaurant. The ambience was great and the terrace is very bight with lots of natural daylight. Had Chorizo Bites for starters which were really tasty and then Chicken Grand-Mere for mains and... More

I cannot locate the restaurant (The Terrace) in Trip Advisor, but this is only a review of this part of the hotel. I booked a Valentine's meal here many weeks ago via Bookatable.co.uk. It was a pre-theatre time (17:30) so not busy. The décor of the restaurant is enticing, although the tables were quite close together, allowing for all the... More
