Description: In the very heart of London, The Terrace offers Victorian elegance and superb modern cuisine. There are excellent views of the Strand and Trafalgar Square. Housed in a Grade II Listed building with original period features, The Terrace has a light and airy interior with striking floor-to-ceiling windows and Victorian mosaic floors. The fresh, seasonal menu features exquisite fish dishes such as pan fried halibut fillet with prawn dumplings, bean cassoulet and langoustine bisque sauce. Other dishes include pan fried beef fillet with oxtail ravioli, watercress puree and ceps sauce. The indulgent sweet menu offers desserts like honey nougat parfait with pistachio, toasted almonds and a raspberry and mango coulis, or a selection of British cheeses with plum chutney. Diners at Amba Hotel Charing Cross can also enjoy afternoon tea in cosy, welcoming surroundings.

Once again I am not disappointed with the Brassiere at Charing Cross Hotel. It was my first time experiencing afternoon tea at Charing Cross Hotel as I am always drawn to their delicious dinners. However I organised have afternoon tea there and it was 'cream of the crop.' My attention was immediately drawn to the perfect crockery laid out with... More

This is a very pleasant dining room for breakfasts, light and airy, with good buffet choices: muesli with rather loose yogurt, ham, cheese, good coffee. They also have traditional English breakfasts with what we call Canadian bacon, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms. But dinner is another story. We ate there one night with friends. We arrived at 7:00 and left at 9:45,... More

We spent a week at this Charing Cross Hotel and ate breakfast in the restaurant on several mornings. The staff was very helpful, especially a young woman intern. We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, especially sitting in the glass-enclosed room with a nice view of the street below. We enjoyed the hotel, as well, but were very disappointed that... More

In recognition of yet another Birthday a friend and I decided to treat ourselves to afternoon tea, this was booked using the Amazon voucher system. What a lovely way to spend the afternoon with good food, good company and revisiting a custom that is celebrating a healthy revival. A welcome reminder of days gone by, when high tea was a... More

Read the reviews on here and booked. The venue is in a fantastic location and the restoration of the hotel is fab. The food is well cooked and presented, on a limited, but well-thought-out menu. Service is friendly and mid-range. Mainly though, it is a quiet restaurant that is far more grand than you would expect to find in this... More

We had a wonderful afternoon tea at The Brasserie. The food was excellent, especially the cakes on top! We really liked the different tea's. The service was really good and fast, Cyan and Precey made our day. Later that day, during Faulty Towers, Zhivko was also very friendly and helpful.

We purchased an Afternoon Tea for Two with Prosecco via Amazon and along with four other family members we used it this afternoon. The whole experience was excellent from the time we first crossed the threshold and were greeted by friendly staff right through to entering the Brasserie it is impossible to count the number of smiling friendly staff we... This summer I've had a wonderful experience that I haven't shared with anyone on this website yet. I have been taken for dinner by my boyfriend and family as an extra surprise for my birthday. It was that 'little beautiful restaurant' in the middle of London. There were several things that made this place outstanding. The first thing is clearly... More

I bought the voucher for "Tea for 2" on Amazon Local UK before we left the States & glad that I did. The food was tasty and very filling. I had my 20-yr old son (who can really put away the food) & together we could not finish the selection of sandwiches, scones and pastries . The staff was pleasant... More
