Excellent Indian food and value

This was a last minute visit based on other recent Trip Advsor reviews. We had just main courses of a Chicken Tikka Balti and a Chicken Tikka Biryani - both very tastey and reasonable portions. The drinks are good value as is the food with most main courses under a tenner. The ambience is... read more

Not as intimate as I thought however we went in around10:30pm. For the both of us the bill came to £33.00 for starters, 2 mains, bread & drinks. It was lovely food, friendly service & I would definitely go back again.

Visited the restaurant today while showing around the city to my family on vacation to London. Nice location, good ambiance and okay food (dont try to order aloo (potato) stuffed prantha - it was terrible. One waiter was not able to communicate in English well and the reason for me giving it one star is that we ordered roti and... More

Dear Mr Sushant Vohra. Thank you for sharing your experience in our restaurant. Roti,Chapatti,Paratha what is the difference?. Well chapatti in one country is Roti in another. Due to understanding problems like this from our fellow country man visiting from India we have taken Roti off our menu and replaced it with Chapatti. In most Indian restaurant a roti is... More

The food is amazing here and the staff are so welcoming. I love the freshness of the food and how authentic it is. When I now eat at other Indian restaurants, I can see the difference in the sauces etc. I love it here and am willing to pay for that little more. I wish my takeaway portions were bigger... More

Ate here on recommendation and we weren't disappointed. Good communication during booking process, good service, nice food and pleasant restaurant. Had the Garlic and Chilli Chicken and if you like it hot, this is the one to go for, it has some fire in it !

We ordered a delivery from Shad and couldn't have been more pleased with the whole experience. They were very helpful on the phone, giving suggestions about what to try based on our preferences (mild, spicy, chicken or lamb etc). The food then arrived very promptly and it was delicious! one of the best curries I have had in a long... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
