Best Italian restaurant in London

The pasta dishes is the best I have ever eaten. You can have small size portion of some of the dishes if you want. And desserts is lovley.

We had the set two course lunch which was good value but with wine dessert and coffee we ended up paying considerably more! Food was good, authentically Umbrian with good ingredients. Service was good and our chose wine (Torre di Giano) was excellent. Just one irk - if the two course set lunch is at a set price, then that... More

Beautifully elegant, this is a sophisticated restaurant and a subtle menu. No fuss, no frills, no fashionable fusion: excellent ingredients, treated simply and carefully. The pasta is wonderful, light and perfectly cooked. Unobtrusive, pleasant service. You'll feel better dressed up a bit. This is an old school, theatre haunt, rather than a hipster one. Loved it. It's a bit pricey,... More

This little gem is tucked away on Poland street Soho and offers seasonal Umbrian cuisine. The pasta is beautifully prepared and has a soft, silky texture with a slight egg flavour. The sauces are fragrant, flavoursome and fresh. I strongly recommend the garlic and chilli prawn pasta. We were impressed with the in house and the selection of wine and... More

Thoroughly enjoyed my lunch here with my dad. Would advise booking. The restaurant was packed on a wednesday lunchtime but it was getting there. Great service. The restaurant feels very local even though it is in the middle of Soho. The lunchtime set menu is great - a salad to start and then some pasta for £16.50. pretty good. We both... More

Have eaten here multiple times. I've been to Umbria many times and this place just brings back those holiday memories. Food is excellent. Staff are Italian and you are transported to Italy when in here. Have seen the odd celebrity including Bill Nighy in there of a lunchtime.

I am Italian and reside in the UK. I have visited London many times before, but only discovered this gem recently through a friend. I come from Umbria, and had high expectations from this family run restaurant serving specialties from my region. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed at how authentic and genuine the food is, proper italian flavours with... More

Starters the size of Amuse Bouche, Mains the size of starters. I can't remember using the word "mean" about an Italian restaurant before.

This is a small Italian restaurant with very good food, very good service and a reasonable wine list. They change their menu frequently and their delicious pasta is homemade. It would be suitable for a business lunch as well as a pleasant dinner with friends and/or lovers.

As an addendum to my earlier review, our last visit has been disappointing. The tables were about two inches apart, far too intimate for strangers dining alongside. The food was as ever, excellent, the service great but we'd now hesitate before returning.

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
