A Gem in Soho

This is a small Italian restaurant with very good food, very good service and a reasonable wine list. They change their menu frequently and their delicious pasta is homemade. It would be suitable for a business lunch as well as a pleasant dinner with friends and/or lovers.

As an addendum to my earlier review, our last visit has been disappointing. The tables were about two inches apart, far too intimate for strangers dining alongside. The food was as ever, excellent, the service great but we'd now hesitate before returning.

Italian food has to be one of the best for tasting good and filling you up. This is one of the better Italian's - really delicious and the staff are really friendly too. The décor is a bit dated but its worth a visit if you are in the area. But book as it's popular.

Specialises in cuisine from the Umbrian area, where my partner's mother is from, so the expectations were high. We've now returned again for dinner and are planning a third visit. The set menu is excellent, even better value at lunch, it seems. It's the extra touches, like the single very large ravioli that appeared between courses that makes this place... More

We arrived fairly early on a wet, windy Monday evening, and were welcomed by the friendly staff. Not long after we arrived the restaurant started to fill up, seemingly with regular patrons as the proprietor greeted each with a hearty and familiar hello. Always a good sign. We were not disappointed. Our entire meal was well-executed. I got the grilled... More

Simple yet wonderful food as always. Impeccable food, good reasonably priced house wine, attentive service, central location in Poland Street off Oxford Street. We have been going for years now and it is still great. A place for foodies. No glitz though very nicely done.

I've passed this restaurant many times and never really noticed it. Now I have tried it and will be visiting again very soon. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff were so friendly. I had Crostino with chicken livers, ham & marinated mushrooms and then calf's liver. The Umbrian food is excellent. Thoroughly recommended.

We were not only amazed to walk in with no reservation at 8.30pm on a Friday evening and get a table, but to be offered the ornate dining room downstairs; which we initially had to ourselves. Having just walked through the streets with luggage and tried 3 chain restaurants, to find each had a 30 minute wait we felt like... More

I have eaten here many, many times. I go back because it's simply a great restaurant. It doesn't follow fads, it doesn't compete with other restaurants, it simply serves the freshest food, made from the finest ingredients, cooked very, very well. The owner only has that one restaurant and works in the kitchen, meaning he lets his cooking do his... More

Been there to celebrate a friend's birthday for the first time. Antipasti: plenty of prociutto, burrata, grilled vegetables - we were already kind of full at the end of antipasti. So generous portion. Primo: I think it was linguine with prawns - one of the best 'al dente'. Secondo: choices of four meals. I chose 'Fillet beef steak , Rare'... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
