OK, but a bit of a let-down

We booked a table for three to relax after ice skating on a staurday night and we were REALLY looking forward to a lovely meal. In the end, we left a little disappointed. Great location and the initial service (drink and nuts in the bar area) was promising but whilst the food was good, it didn't justify the prices. My... More

We ate dinner here in a slight rush before a night out at the theatre but none the less the food was lovely. I had the Pork Belly and it was to die for. The crackling was crisp and tasty and the balsamic lentils and onion on the side complemented it greatly. Will go again when we have more time... More

We had our family there while ice mating and really didn't expect much. However, the food was terrific and we really enjoyed the place. The service was a bit slow, but it was cold out and we really didn't mind. Compared to some of the other places in the area, this is worth a trip - particularly if combined with... More

Made a reservation several weeks in advance but was allocated a table with little view and near the kitchen. We asked whether we could sit in one of the booths but was advised they had been reserved, they remained unoccupied for the majority of our meal. Staff were absence during our meal and were not attentive, we waited 15 minutes... More

Buffet formula with healthy things and lovely cakes and pastries. Good for a coffee break while visiting exhibitions at Somerset House.

Great food, excellent cocktails, slow service. I love all of the Tom brand and have visited the Chelsea Kitchen and Tom's Deli on many occasions. The food is good contemporary british - perfect for casual dining in unfussy contemporary settings. The cocktails hit the spot. The only downside on this occasion was the very slack service - slightly irritating as... More

Took my wife and 2 children as a treat after ice skating. The manager and most of his staff need a kick up the backside. Waited ages at reception before anyone noticed me to check that yes we did have a reservation. mentioned this to the manager he replied rudely that they are busy and aggressively pointed me to the... The place is nice and the service is really friendly and not too much. Wine list is ok. The menu is small and not very elaborated : simple dishes but well prepared with good ingredients. At the reservation, they required us to quit at 21:00, but finally nobody came after us and we could stay more. BUT, they absolutely needs... More

We had a great meal at Tom's Kitchen for my birthday. Setting at Somerset House is fab. It was perhaps the wettest day of the summer yet we still had a very enjoyable day out. Food was very tasty however the atmosphere was a little quiet - no music and not many people present. Staff were very friendly and not... More

I had lunch here during the week with a friend. We hadn't booked but pitched up bright and breezey, and managed to get a table. The restaurant is actually bigger than you think so it was unlikely we would not have got seated. The menu provided a good selection and we chose Shephards pie. Simply delicious. Good service, not fawning... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
