Had drinks in an amazing bar on the 6th floor first (Maddison) Lovely food, lovely atmosphere, great service. We were over charged for wine though, although we didn't realize until we'd left. Otherwise, all good, no complaints.

The fact that my very first experience of a Jamie Oliver restaurant was Barbecoa was because we could not get reservations at any other Jamie restaurant. I was ready for a meat-intensive dining experience with little touches of "Jamie" but my fellow-diners were not. I, therefore chose judiciously: the lamb chops with Indian spices (vindaloo) seemed just right and it... More

Visited during on of my regular trips to London, meeting a few friends for a catch up they both work close by so decided to meet for cocktails. Upon asking if they had any free tables they did indeed have one for an early sitting, providing we were done by a certain time. Very friendly and efficient service. Felt looked... More

The chateaubriand here is second to none in London. It's a little tricky to get a table sometimes but worthwhile and in fairness I have noticed that after a few visits they did become increasingly accommodating. This really is the pinnacle of good indoor barbecued food - it's clearly somewhere which has combined talent with care and style with substance:... More

We were last in Barbecoa a year ago and loved it so much the first time, we went back the next day too. This year we tried to repeat the experience but were disappointed. Something has changed, although its hard to define where they are going wrong. I had the crab and corn cakes for entree and the size of... More

Have eaten here a few times now - it's primarily dedicated to all things meat, which is not ideal for vegetarians! Usually one or two fish options for mains and the very helpful staff will always make a double sized starter for a main if you ask . This time I had an amazing sea bass fillet which was one... More

Nice food, nice location, still totally overpriced and overrated. Just order meat. It is a very noisy place, so it's very difficult to have conversation. It seems this place does a great job to advertise overseas. Every time we have friends over from continental Europe, they request here. I pretended to be sick once to avoid going this place.

This is a highly successful and always very busy restaurant facing St. Paul's. Though like other reviewers I also found the noise level high, there is no denying that the whole place is buzzing, and the feel is contagious. The food was good enough, the service was fine, and it seemed as if everyone was having a good time. Seating... More

We had a lovely dinner with a view of the bottom of the dome of St Paul's. The walls are all glass so just about anywhere you sit will be nice but not necessarily the best angles of the dome. The tables and chairs are modern and comfortable. It is a lively place popular with young people. Only one person... More

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
