My wife booked for my 30th and i was really looking forward to it. The restaurant is in a nice location and decor is light and trendy. The staff were friendly enough but it was a little noisey and the sitting generally felt rushed. I love chicken wings so had them for a starter. I had asked for their homemade... More

Went for dinner with my wife last night after making a reservation a couple hours earlier as it was Friday night. Asked for a window seat with a view and was told that my request would be considered. Upon arrival after a visit to the famous butchery downstairs we were seated at a window table for two with the "best... More

Jaime Oliver is my husband's favourite chef and we frequent Jaime's Italian in Sydney so was disappointed when Barbecoa didn't meet the same expectations. We ordered, Sirloin steak, Rib combo and lamb chops. Perhaps it's an English thing and although we don't mind having a little bit of fat in the meats but all of our meats didn't seem to... More

I was really looking forward to trying Barbecoa after reading such good reviews online and whilst I was not disappointed with my experience I really don't understand what all the fuss is about. I found it to be very overpriced for bbq style food. The best thing about the restaurant is the view of St Paul's but other than that... More

if you are a steak lover then get yourself to Barbecoa. Service could be better but the food is great. Pork scratching's and the T-Bone Steak out of this world.

The waiting staff were friendly and attentive. The starters were ok, not excellent. The cocktails were unimaginative and one of my mint leaves had insect larvae on it (I was offered another free of charge to replace this). However, the chateau briand was excellent, the best I've ever had. It was pricey at £75 for two people but worth it... More

The restaurant itself is very nice and has a cracking view of St.Paul's. Great for impressing a date or client however the food was average and over priced. Service was slow but it was really busy (although it wasn't a Saturday for Friday night!).

I have been a Jamie Oliver fan for years and booked the restaurant months in advance. It was good food but I think a little overpriced and really lacked something. Sorry Jamie we will still continue to enjoy your recipes which I cook often particularly your Salsa Verde fantastic with BBQ

The restaurant has great views of St Paul's cathedral, and no expense has been spared on the interior either. But the food we ate wasn't special.

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
