Things started well as we warmed up with a cocktail or two and got better as we tucked into simple but good starters (Crab on toast and smoke salmon). But we came for the steak and it did not disappoint - a huge porterhouse shared between three of us. Whilst it is the best steak in town it comes at... More

You can look at the decor and menu on their website so I won't go into that here. Go with (or better still be taken by) someone you love and make sure you both love steak... There us a fish option but you go to Hawksmoor for the steak. They're big so go empty. The staff, casually dressed, are welcoming,... More

We went yesterday evening - table for 2. The service, from front door to table and throughout the meal, was exemplary. Some of the best service I've had eating in London. Having The Hawksmoor recommended to me so much by a friend, I had very high hopes for the food and was not disappointed. I started with the famous Tamworth... More

We had a really fabulous pre theatre meal; I ate from the express menu which I think was excellent value at £27 for 3 courses. My partner dined from the normal menu and yes the steak didn't come cheap at £37 for a 500g rib eye but he said it was the best steak he's had. Portion sizes are very... More

I loved everything about this restaurant. The actual dining room itself is beautiful. Excellent service from the moment I entered the restaurant until I left. Food was delicious. We shared the crab starter and went for the beef roast. Yum! Not cheap but every component of the dish was excellent and in my opinion worth every penny. The Eton mess... More

As pre-theatre menus go this is far from the cheapest but the quality of the food and service was good. I started with the marrowbone in green sauce. This was very tasty even if the presentation was somewhat rustic. This was followed by a ribeye steak and green salad. The steak was a perfect medium rare and the generous portion... More

Absolutely love this place. This time I had a burger, which was outstanding. My two colleagues had steaks. All great value with the express menu (£24 for two courses). The wine is a bit pricey and the restaurant is a bit noisy, which I know they would love to do something about but can't. Service was outstanding. You always feel... More

Not the first time I've eaten here - and again, enjoyed the experience very much. Large comfortable seats in a "NY Style" steak restaurant. Meat quality and taste is superb, seperately ordered sides, especially the mushroom are excellent, good wine list and servers who seem happy to help. This is the go-to steak restaurant for those who love their meat... More

This is our first time here and we went for an evening family celebration, this was a great choice and a great atmosphere for the occasion. The steaks were superb and the meal very wholesome and tasty, spare rib starters are highly recommended. Will definitely return.

Really well decorated and vibrant dining room in the basement of its central Covent Garden location. Excellent menu which our helpful waiter explained to us as there's single steak options and weight-based options too. I chose a bone-in sirloin at £28 so throw in a sauce and side and it's pushing £40 which in my opinion is a bit over... More
