This is our local so have been plenty of times but we'd not eaten there before. Great to be able to use the outdoor seating as it was a nice sunny evening. Ordered kimchee style burger with fries. Burger and dressings were quite nice if nothing special but it arrived in a cheap tasteless bun with pale MCD style fries.... More

I love going here, my fav place during the winter months. Sitting by the open fire with a pint of real ale, what more could a man want. Staff are always friendly, great choice of beers, good food.

The old nuns head is a great pub. It has a really relaxed atmosphere with board games lying about. The food is good, very reasonable too. Also do try the cocktails, they're always good!!

Fab burger with great service. You won't be disappointed with the quality or the portions. This the second time we have been but won't be the last.

Tried Burger Bear this weekend and we weren't disappointed - quality very good and the buns were superb. Only gripe - I did find it a teeny but expensive for the size, as you have to add fries on which are extra. Not much more than I would consider more than fair, but a bit. Would go back for more... Having visited the nuns head dozens of time over the years we were a little bored with it. We went back tonight as they have started a new night...burgers night and a Tuesday...and Thursday I think ...to be fair, the burgers were pretty good...made by flock and herd butcher in bellenden road apparently...all for £7.50 and about £3 for the... A group of nine of us eat here on a Wednesday lunchtime and were very pleased with the food we were served. It was simple and good with excellent chips (aka fries, frites, fritas, frietjes etc). Only about £15 per head including drinks and coffee. Pub was very quiet which may account for why the kitchen was able to do... More

We visited on a Friday night and the pub was busy with a good atmosphere. We ordered two starters, the buffalo wings and the tacos. The food was really sub standard (and not cheap!). Iy's a while since I've had such a poor experience when eating out. It's a shame because the food here used to be really good here... More

This used to be a great pub where we generally ate at least once a week. The staff remain friendly, and the beer and the atmosphere are still good. But in recent months the quality of food has nose-dived. The excellent Thai options have gone and the other offerings have gone down in variety, quality and quantity, but gone up... More
