Best. Pub. Ever.

The Old Nun's Head is the single best local pub I have ever had (and I've lived all over London). The street food evenings they have on rotation are fantastic: a great selection of different flavours from around the world, top quality food, delicious. I never write these things but reading the reviews below found it necessary to add my thoughts. I agree with the staff that the guy below was a wanker. We had a Sunday roast, on a rainy, cold day, sat by the fire, and everything was perfect. The beef was from some local butcher so it was obviously perfect and... More

Went in for a Sunday roast with friends. Told it would be a 30 minute wait after we ordered so got offered free pints. The food arrived after 20 minutes so they said "we'll give you free jäger bombs instead" after refusing this and asking politely for the pints we'd be offered, the manager agreed he'd offer us our free... The staff and pub itself were/are great, which is why were even more disappointed with our £14 roast - very small portion of average food. In brief, we got: Some kind of cauliflower cheese (but with no cauliflower?!!) One floret of severely under cooked broccoli A few carrots Some burnt crackling One flat as a pancake Yorkshire pudding The meat... More

Fantastic selection real ale and loved the three 'taster' 1/3rd of a pint glasses option. Warm and welcoming bar staff with an added bonus of the Oh My Dog pop up there for the evening made for a great night out.

Warmly greeted as we arrived. Great variety of beers and wines all served with expert knowledge and a smile. Ordered the Sunday roast, huge portions and seriously yummy food. Will be going back for sure, like a home from home on a Sunday afternoon! (Or any afternoon come to think of it) keep up the good work, not enough pubs... More

I absolutely LOVE this pub. Their focus on constantly offering something new and never standing still means there's a different pop-up restaurant every 4-6 weeks offering food from all around the world. They are an integral part of the community with their upstairs space being used by all sorts of local groups. I find the staff really friendly and knowledgable... More

Just had an awesome Sunday lunch at a pub close to where we live. The Old Nuns Head is fab. Gorgeous food at reasonable prices and a great atmosphere with friendly locals and bar staff. Nunhead is getting better and better and this pub is leading the way. Cheers guys. See you next Sunday.

Most awful Roast Meat undercooked and tough, Swimming in blood and too much gravy, we all left are plates full of food but staff didn't bother to ask why , charged full price for what left really bad taste in my mouth and almost ruined my Sunday ..... I will not be visiting this pub again that's for sure ....... More

Hi Dominika, I'm very sorry that you had such a bad experience. When people order the roast beef here they are given the options of rare, medium or well done. The only complaint that our staff received last Sunday was from someone who ordered a medium beef which came out a bit too rare. This was quickly exchanged and apologised... More
