We went here early with our 6 year old daughter as we had heard it was a good restaurant for families. As soon as we arrived our daughter was given pencils and a menu to colour on. The food was ok, my daughter had chicken which was not very good, my chicken escalope was ok but a but greasy, my... read more

No atmosphere, no customers, what has happened to it? We have been coming here for years and have never seen it so depressed ( well, apart from the prices which are anything but depressed!) going to be a long time before we return, if we do at all, we may just follow everyone else and find a better place.

We booked a table here for a birthday treat with two young children having been to a show in the WestEnd. It lived up to expectations. The food and service was great and the staff made a birthday plate for our nine year old daughter. They really do look after families and there was a good deal on for kids... More

We've eaten in the restaurant a couple of times which has particularly tasty seafood and fish dishes, well cooked and it's all very Blighty. My favourite by far though is the atmospheric, dark downstairs bar, with fabulous, imaginative cocktails, vintage detailing and some rather nice bar snacks. A little let down by slightly stand-offish staff but a great meeting spot... More

Felt the waitress was quite rude and didn't want to talk about things on the menu. The food was ok - I was glad I wasn't paying. Feel there are better places to go for the money.

Nice place. Downstairs is best with the big sofas and cocktails. Food upstairs was good but not exceptional.

Whether you want a good meal, a couple of drinks, or a dessert/ snacks while socializing this is a great place. Within walking distance of the tube, service is friendly, and quality ingredients are used. I was here for drinks in the basement area, and dinner on the main floor. Both were great and different experiences.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Hix Soho. My family (three adults) went there after a show to celebrate my birthday. The food was excellent. We started with the snax and particularly enjoyed the crackling and cockle popcorn. Two of us had the ribsteak burger with lobster while my wife had the monkfish curry, all of these dishes were excellent,... More

We ate at Hix Soho in early August and have to say that the food was fabulous. The children's menu is excellent and the cater for children very well. Service was excellent and the staff were welcoming and friendly. There is an extensive wine list and a varied menu, so much so that it took us ages to decide on... More

After a day's walking around the sights we were all looking forward to a good evening meal. We were not disappointed. The waiters were very attentive and really knew the menu and could describe what was available. The food was very good. Well presented and beautifully cooked. The ambience was relaxed and we all had a really good time. Good... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
