Nice cocktail bar

Basement bar is a cool place to enjoy good cocktails. Caught up with friends over drinks. Hard to find, thankfully my friend knew where it was. Nice atmosphere

The pre-theatre menu offers a great meal at very reasonable prices for London. The fresh produce is accentuated by lovely combinations of herbs, etc.

Stunning steak, matured in a room of Himalayan salt, totally exquisite. Good service and we sat at the bar which is fun. Great cocktails too.

Hix was always on my list of places to go so I booked a table before going to the theatre to see what it was all about. The food was ok, nothing special but what ruined it for me was the service. Really bad. We had about 5 different waiters in the space of 45 minutes. None of them knew... More

Went here with some work colleagues as a treat. We started in the basement bar, some drinks and snacks, then upstairs for our meal. It is a great place to spend a whole evening to enjoy yourself and eat well. We've eaten here a few times and never had a bad meal between us. The service is great too, both... More

Went here for lunch before going to the theatre. The deal was two courses and a glass of wine ....We had a chicken salad for main which was like a starter portion and nothing special and a chocolate dessert which was very nice. If we had paid the actual menu price for this we would have been very disappointed and... More

Four of us has a table booked for 7pm which we arrived 20 mins early for, we were taken to the Mark's bar on the lower floor which was funky and has some interesting cocktails. We were then led to the table upstairs where the room was starting to fill up. Although the surrounding were pleasant it felt a little... More

We had drinks for 12 people booked in the bar. They were to reserve us a place but when we arrived, this had not been done. The bar waiters were pretty grumpy and uninterested. They had no sense of humour what-so-ever, apart from one guy that we found who actually smiled and chatted. The rest were more interested in chatting... More

Hix is the epitome of a well oiled machine. However, like a machine it has absolutely no soul. It says something when the people on the table next to us apologised for taking so long to finish, whereas we were whisked through a very average three courses of unimaginative cooking at a cracking rate. Time was so precious, even the... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
