Great place for Sunday Luncheon

From the moment you arrive at The Goring, you are made welcome, all staff have a smile and happy to help. I had contacted the restaurant manger to say I had food allergies the day before and over drinks in the fabby bar my own menu was presented to me. The food was as usual of high standard... read more

I have dined at The Goring a few times now, and had dinner with friends just a week ago. The Goring is a magical place where traditional values are interpreted for the modern day, and every lady feels like a Princess for the evening. The staff are charming and seem truly enthusiastic about their work. The food is simply delicious... More

Dropped in for a business lunch. Efficient, courteous service right from the front doorman to the billing. No problem with that. Top class service. Food was good. No complaints. Décor - sitting areas - again top. Nothing to complain about really. BUT end of day, what was extraordinary..........didn't find it. Do visit if you are neighbourhood and want to tick... More

We went here to celebrate my wife receiving an MBE at local Buckingham Palace. It could not have been a better place to celebrate this special occasion. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The dining room itself looked beautiful, inviting and comfortable. And the food was perhaps the best I've ever eaten, We will definitely return.

We took a friend out for her 60th birthday lunch. The place is just gorgeous. Staff charming, not just "have a nice day" style. The food was excellent in classical Anglo French style with top ingredients and a modern look. Portions neither too small nor too large. The style is attractive but not fussy or gimmicky. My husband had fantastic... More

Wonderful place for a celebratory dinner. Between us we sampled many of the dishes on the set price dinner menu. The ambience, food and service are excellent and the prices are fair for a restaurant at this top level. The kitchen is flexible too and accommodated some dietary preferences without the slightest difficulty. Overall, a clear Excellent

Classic continental preparations, with the most flavorful lamb I have ever tasted. Wonderful wine list, with an extensive cellar of vintage half-bottles. Impeccable service.

The Goring is such a wonderful British institution. The deco beautiful Edwardian gothic style. Traditional and classy but not stuffy. Courteous polite service. Great food in the restaurant. My duck dish was a melt in the mouth.

If the pace of London starts to wear you out, a few hours in the Goring hotel should restore your equilibrium. Try and bag a table on the terrace overlooking the immaculate garden to linger over your aperitif. Then retire to the lovely light and airy dining room. Food is delicious and reasonably priced for this calibre of venue, with... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
