Had dinner with a friend and decided to try this on recommendation. The welcome was courteous and efficient. Seated in a lovely corner table and the bright and well set out dining room. Our champagne was served promptly and very attentive sommelier gave good advice on wine to have with our dinner. The food was delicious - egg drumkilbo was... More

We stayed for a weekend at the Goring. The staff could not be more helpful. The dinner in the dining room on Saturday night was amazing. The lobster omelette is a must! The service from all the staff could not have been better, throughout all the weekend. The best hotel I have ever stayed in.

I've visited The Goring twice, for afternoon tea and after the Michelin star award, I decided to lunch here with a friend. Let me say that I love the atmosphere at The Goring and I love the staff, who surely must be among the friendliest in London. The restaurant staff are quite charming, highly efficient and determined to make the... More

We will never forget the afternoon tea we enjoyed with a couple of friends. The Goring is well known to have the best afternoon tea which can last several hours as it did for us. Highly recommend but be sure to get reservations well i advance.

A visit to The Goring is a bi-annual treat, and whilst the £45 set lunch is not inexpensive, it's worth every penny. The wine list is also well-balanced, with wines and prices to suit every palate. The room is light and airy, and the tables are well-spaced to give an overall feel of spaciousness and luxury. The staff are friendly,... More

Booked for lunch and arrived a little early since we weren't sure of the location as it was our first visit. The door staff are very welcoming and efficient, after leaving our coats we were shown to a table in the bar area and offered drinks with nibbles. the decor and atmosphere are lovely. The menu choice was excellent and... More

We had heard great things about The Goring, especially since it had been awarded a Michelin Star. The food was delicious, but it didn't have the 'wow' factor that we expected. My Beef Wellington was good, but lots of pastry and pate and not a lot of meat. However, the service was excellent, especially Kevin, the waiter from Narbonne, whose... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
